But responding to a young "couple," (pimp and hooker, or otherwise) saying you killed your husband? Please. I also find it strange that they've only released edited footage (from what I've gathered). I can understand maybe a film maker wanting to play with it to make it more dramatic, only show what they want to show, etc., but if it's really so bad, shouldn't they be more than happy to hand over the full, uncut footage? | I got called for jury duty once... when I was 17. I never bothered to fill out my information and send it back, because I couldn't legally go anyway, and I was about to leave to go back to NY. heh. I asked my mom what I should do, and she said that if they called and wondered what was up, she'd have at 'em. Or something like that. *snort* -------------------- o.O |

8:35am. I was born one week before Christmas, and they let my mom bring me home for Christmas day. :3 I'm a morning person, but only in the sense that I like to stay up all night until it's morning... I wear glasses, and have for a long time (since grade 3, whatever age I was then). I've never tried contacts, but I'd like to. I look really weird without my glasses though. That could just be because I'm so used to having them, I guess. My eyesight is really bad. I'm supposedly nearsighted, but I only have about 2 inches where I can see at all clearly without my glasses on. They come off when I sleep or shower, and that's about it. I need to get new glasses every year. I need new ones now, because it's getting to the point where I can't read road signs or stuff on my computer without leaning in and squinting. heh. I wish they weren't so bloody expensive. D: Originally posted by AnyaIndeeeed. :3 -------------------- o.O

We compost some, and leave the rest on the lawn to decompose there. The owner of the property would prefer that we bag them all up and dump them in the little ravine next to the property, but I see that as a waste of time, effort, and nutrients, especially since she also wants to fertilize the grass with chemical stuff later. I've actually never burned leaves. Burning pine needles is neat, though, so maybe I should try it. heh. Then again, burning things outside is kind of illegal around here, so maybe not.. ![]() -------------------- o.O

I have a small (~4') artificial tree in my apartment, and a larger one (~7') in the house. I can't have a real tree because someone's allergic to the pollen it would give off, or something like that. The tree in the house is being a PitA this year, though. About half of the lights decided to give up on us, and it would cost so much to replace the bulbs and wiring that we're unravelling all of the pre-strung lights, and will just decorate it as if it's a real tree, once that's done, probably with LEDs. It's taking forever though. We probably wouldn't bother if it wasn't such a nice artificial tree. I would love to have a real tree. I miss it. Clean-up is actually pretty easy if you put it 'inside'/on top of an opened tree-size garbage bag, and then hide that under a tree skirt. At the end of the season, you move the skirt, and just pull the bag up over the tree. Of course, you can always buy a live, plantable one, but from what I've seen, those cost a bunch, especially if they're full-sized (6+'), and then you really have to take care of it, not to mention planting it later. As for cats, we have two in our apartment, and two in the house. In the house, one of the cats likes to climb into the tree, but she's usually very, very careful about it. She barely even makes the ornaments move. The other cat.. well, we'll see (he's new this year). In our apartment, with the small tree, the one cat (also new this year) just kind of rubs her face on the branches, and the other cat mostly ignores it. I know some cats are more crazy about having a tree up, so if you're worried about it, you could always get one and hang unbreakable ornaments on it. We started with unbreakables just to see how our new cat would react, and have been layering our other ornaments onto it as time goes by. It also helps if the ornaments at the bottom of the tree are all unbreakable, just for 'security,' in case they decide they want to play with something shiny after all. We also tied the tree to the table it's sitting on, just in case. :p As long as you don't hang things that your cat associates with being a toy (for us that means tassel things, tinsel, etc.), it should be fine. You might get some reactions like this if they've never seen a tree before, so just watch them for the first bit after putting it up. ;D (This is, of course, assuming you do want a tree up... heheh.)Out of curiousity, do you guys decorate your trees to be pretty, or to use ornaments that have sentimental meaning to you? (Or both? Neither? Don't care?) I'm finding it interesting to decorate with my SO because his Christmas traditions/memories and mine are very different, which has got me thinking about that. It's kind of cool to realize why a tradition is so important to you, or even that it is important. :3 -------------------- o.O

You can apparently buy some that have 'soft white' light, similar to old Christmas lights, but I'm not sure just how similar it is. The ones I've seen have been bright almost-blueish white. I have a set that rotates through being white or blue and fades back and forth, so the blueishness of the white isn't as strange. I like that they don't give off much heat at all. I just hope that they come out with some that have a similar shape to the mini-lights of old, because they're cute. We're supposedly changing to LEDs for the big tree in the house, because replacing the dead bulbs was going to cost >$90 anyway, but I don't know if we'll do it any time soon. My SO's mother has enough Christmas stuff to open a store, so she has enough lights lying around to use anyway. It would feel kind of stupid to go out and buy new lights at this point. I hate driving and seeing houses that have a combination of old lights and LEDs strung in succession, as if they're the same things, but the colours are completely off. It looks really strange, and it's distracting. :<<br> -------------------- o.O

My friends say the plot is very similar to Dance with Wolves. (I've never seen it, so I can't judge.) And I haven't seen Fern Gully either. I would say it was kind of like Pocahontas (the actual story, not so much the Disney movie. :p) with blue peoples. I thought the creatures on Pandora were incredibly awesome, though, and I think they made the environment believable, and pretty damned fantastic. I liked the 3D, because it wasn't gimmicky like most 3D movies, and it was pretty seamless. I don't go to see movies to pick them apart, though, and thus don't tend to pay attention to a lot of flaws. :p There were some parts that required some suspension of disbelief, but I didn't mind. It's fiction, after all. For me, it was a very immersive experience. I'd definitely go see it again, if I could. I hope they somehow release the movie in 3D (for DVD and such), because I don't want to see it any other way, now, and I'd def. like to see it again. One thing that really boggled my mind was realizing just how much of the movie was done with green-screening, and filled in with CG later. Very cool. Must've been tricky to act. -------------------- o.O

When I first heard they were making a movie of this, I felt pretty creeped out. The book was good, but the material was pretty disturbing. The trailer looks good, though, so I dunno. I'll probably wait to hear what it's like before considering going to see it. -------------------- o.O

I'm sort of kind of playing again. A bit. I have a warrior on.. uh. Quel'dorei. I've been arms for pretty much forever, and don't plan on changing that. Fury sounds kinda interesting now, but meh. Bladestorm is amusing. I hit 80 after Lich King came out, but stopped playing completely the day after that. My brothers have been harassing me to start playing again though, so I've done a couple of raids. My gear is pathetic, but it looks good. haha. I now have like.. 5 pieces of 80 gear. Go me! :p I have practically no hotkeys set up (don't have my UIs set up, I am too lazy to bother setting everything up unless I actually decide I want to play semi-seriously again), so I'm half clicking and half button mashing, and I'm sure my DPS is incredibly horribad, but I can't seem to care right now. heh. The thought of re-learning proper rotations and whatever honestly kind of depresses me. So much time to be wasted~. I like the "new" (to me) random realm-crossing group-finding thing. 'Tis nice for when you don't have enough friends around and have to pug something (my realm is so horrendous for finding groups. Well, it was, anyway). I also like that it ports you directly in when you have a group. (And out when you're done.) However, the whole "Hey, your gear sucks to much to go in there" thing kind of sucks. It makes being carried to get some half-decent gear more time-consuming and annoying. I stopped caring about working my butt off to legitimately get geared a while ago, and I don't know if I'll start caring again. It's kind of fun to be playing again. Weird, though. Also, in an odd way, it's kind of nice to be playing with an utterly stripped UI setup. I know the competitive side of me will probably end up making me go back to having a nicely cluttered screen, but for now it's kinda pleasant having it be very simplified. :p -------------------- o.O

.. Okay, I have to admit to only reading the last page of this thread. :x I'm probably too late to be of help to those who started the trial in December, but... eh. I'll add my 2 cents anyway. So, as for starting out.. Starting this game without friends to hang out with is pretty boring. Unless you've followed the story line of the whole Warcraft series, anyway. When I started, I didn't mind, simply because of that. I leveled really slowly, though. But that was back before they did a lot to make it more new-player friendly, or whatever. (I haven't leveled anything much since then, so I can't judge how good the changes are, other than hearing that it's much less tedious than it used to be.) The beginning of the game is kind of boring, so if you're only ever planning on playing the trial, you probably won't get too much out of it, to be honest. Another problem being that you're coming into the game 3? expansions in, so you're going to be seeing some pretty awesome stuff, and wishing you could be there already. ![]() I know the graphical style is off-putting to some (my S.O. didn't want to play it at all because of it, until I "forced" him to play. heheh), but the characters grow on you. You don't have nearly as many customization options as in something like CoH, but some of the gear later on is really actually quite gorgeous, and as was mentioned earlier in the thread, it's more about the stats on the gear than what it looks like. You'll look like a skittle until you make the effort to hunt down a set, if you keep playing. Keep in mind that the idea is that you're starting out as a complete unknown in the story, basically like a child, who will grow throughout the game into 'someone' who is rather kick-ass. So, you start with next to nothing. However, the only thing that will stay the same is your basic physical composition (skin colour, face shape, hair, etc.), and I think you can change that at the barber shop if you don't like it, anyway. Oh, and your name, but you can technically change that too (might cost $, I forget). As for choosing a race, don't choose based on your starting zone. Choose something you like the look of. You can get to another zone easily enough, after say .. level 6? 10? I forget what exactly. Just stick to the roads and you'll be fine. You might die a couple of times if you're unlucky, but that'll just teach you about the "joy" that is corpse-running. It's especially easy if you have a higher-leveled friend who can come along and smuck things that look like they might eat you along the way. Leveling through the low, boring stuff is also easier if you can get them to run you through a couple of instances for exp. and better gear. You don't learn your class quite as well right away if you do that, but it takes a lot less time, if you're just going for expediency due to trial-time limitations. ![]() Ah, class. That's another thing. Some people are better/have more fun with different classes, and sometimes that class isn't the one you'd expect it to be. I expected to like being a healing class, and I ended up having a warrior for my main. If you feel like you're not enjoying the game within a few levels, give another class (or two or five)a try. Then, if you really hate everything about the game, move on with your life. heheh. I was going to try to make a bit of a comparison of the game to CoH, but I stopped playing that a while ago, too, so I don't even know what it's like at this point. That, and this is turning into more of a ramble than I intended (perhaps more a nickle than a couple of pennies), so.. tl;dr: The game is a lot more fun later on. Give the trial a chance, but keep in mind that you're probably not going to get into the more fun content within the time frame of the trial. If you want to play with someone who doesn't mind doing run-throughs and such, my main is Aiyleta on Quel'dorei (US PvE server, horde side). I'm not on much (see post above), so you'd have to pester me on AIM (Aiyleta) or in IRC (Aiya) first, but yus. I also have a few alts if you just want someone for company, rather than smiting. And if you've already gotten started on another server and don't feel like starting over but want help/company, you can always pester me anyway. :3Happy Gaming! ^-^ (P.S. Sorry for the double post.) -------------------- o.O

I went and got this on New Year's, and played 3P.. we had a blast. I would imagine it's probably harder with only one people, or many people if you're not actively trying to cooperate. We'd all heard that you end up 'hating' each other by the end of playing if you aren't careful, but we had a lot of fun. ![]() I'm not even sure where we stopped, because it was like 4:30 in the morning on New Year's day, and I haven't looked at it since (been playing Pokemon Rumble. :x). I'm hoping our friend will have time to come over again soon so we can keep going. If he takes too long, I guess I'll just have to try 1P and see how miserably I fail at it.
