Then the dogs. I don't have any recent pictures of them on the computer, so you'll just have to make do with puppy pictures (such a hardship, I know). Al (short for Alfonse), and Fred (short for Frederick). When their owner calls them, she sometimes ends up saying 'Alfred,' which just amuses me. She keeps them in their cage most of the time, so they're kinda ...hyper. I feel sorry for them, but there's only so much I can do. I take them out when I'm outside, but I can't leave them if I'm not watching them, because they get bored, get loose and take off. And whenever they get loose (no matter who puts them out), I'm the one who has to chase them down. Their owner broke her foot, and she was staying at her mom's, so for the last month or so I've been working on training them. Before, they'd sit if they felt like it and that was about it. heh. Now they'll sit, lie down, stay (usually. :p), and heel (most of the time.) heh. They're cute, anyway. =/ At my parents', there's Ginger. She's about 13 now, and she's still a good guard dog. That picture's from about a year ago, when a beaver got into my parents' garage somehow. Ginge was not pleased. She let our cats pet themselves on her chin. Example. Pardon the quality.. 'twas taken through a window (screen) and such. As soon as she knows we can see her, she doesn't let them do it. XD She's a goofball. (The cat in the picture's Phantom, my mom's old cat. =/) I don't have any pictures of Suzy (the horse), but she's ...odd. 'Tis my mom's horse (an AQH). She herds things (people, cows, the dog, whatever's in her pasture), and doesn't like being closed in. She'd rather stand out in the snow/rain/hail/great-balls-of-fire than be in her enclosure. She'll go in long enough to grab mouthfuls of hay or water (only in the winter.. the rest of the time they leave it out) but she bolts back out right away. She's amusing to watch. She gets hyper and does these leaping frolics through her pasture. She'll let you ride her with or without a saddle, but doesn't like bits (at all). We think she was abused before my mom got her, because (among other things) she really didn't like my stepdad at first. Any time he got on to ride, she'd roll him. She's usually okay now, but every once in a while she freaks out a bit again. =/ She's a beautiful horse. ^^ As for my own personal critter... her name's Rainey. She's the most bizarre cat I've ever had, and I love her to pieces. n.n She keeps me company pretty much whenever she can get to me, but she doesn't really like being cuddled or anything. (Thanks to someone who picks her up and then refuses to let her go even if she's squirming and flailing. ><) She'll let me pick her up and set her on my shoulder, but she'll only stay there for a while if I walk around so she can look at stuff. heheh. I take more pictures of her than anything else on earth, so I'll link a couple more. Stretching, I think. I get weird eye things from the flash a lot. I've tried taking some without it, but my hands shake too much, and my camera isn't the best. When I take some with an iPhone they come out okay (see above, on the back of the chair), but I can't zoom with that, so it's tricky too. She loves being outside, but we don't let her wander without supervision because we live on a state highway thing. I wasn't used to having an indoor cat before I moved here. My old cat Monty used to follow me everywhere whenever I was outside, and sit on me whenever I sat, but I just figured it was because I was usually gone. He'd wait for me at the end of the lane when I was supposed to be getting home from school. My mom said he'd wait for about half an hour if I had a practice or something (didn't come home on the bus), and then wander back to the house looking dejected. I couldn't bring him with me when I moved here. They'd closed my parents' road down for construction on a bridge a couple of years ago, so no cars were going through for about 2-3 months, and when they opened it again, he got hit. ._. But yeah, I just figured he was so attached to me when I was out because I wasn't out much, but Rainey does the same kinds of things all day long. She'll be napping next to me, I'll get up and go somewhere else, and she'll wake up, follow me to wherever and curl back up to nap again. If I close a door behind me, she'll stick her paws under the door, paw up at the door handle, and meow to be let in/out (depending on where I am. :p) ... Anyway, I could literally go on for hours, but I think this post is plenty long enough already, and you're probably quite bored! >>;; Sorry for the ! XD I'm a "bit" pet obsessed. ... I wonder what it'll be like if/when I have kids. Good lord. -------------------- o.O

That's horrifying. I'm shaking a little bit right now. Things like this make me so angry/sad. One of my younger brothers threw one of our wee kittens against the garage when he was ~4 and having a temper tantrum. The kitten ended up being okay, so that was good. It was the last time he did anything like that, because my parents dealt with it well. I know that sometimes it's hard for young kids to get the idea of something else being a living thing and having feelings and whatnot, but if a parent doesn't take something like that as a gigantic sign that they missed something in their kids' education... bah. They shouldn't be walking into the foster home to drop them off, giggling. The children and their parents left the animal foster home without giving their names. I guess on one hand I can't blame them, because being publicly responsible for something like that could be detrimental to the kids, but considering the kids' response, I'd say it would be a good thing. I know people are ragging on the PETA thing right now, with their euthanization rates and whatever, but part of me wonders if all of those animals were perfectly healthy, or horribly traumatized like some of the animals mentioned in that article. Doesn't excuse what they're doing, but it makes me wonder anyway. Feh. ._. -------------------- o.O

I don't make phone calls often, but when I do they're long. I think my longest time being on the phone was ~8 hours. I don't even remember if we talked the whole time, though. heh. The average, when talking to my family or friends is ~2 hours or so. When I'm talking to people I don't really know, I don't know what to talk about, and I'm usually too shy to contribute to the current conversation unless it's utterly inane. I think I talk about my cats a lot, because they do silly things while I'm sitting there trying to think of something to say, so then I just say sommat about what they're doing. However, a few people here can attest to the fact that once I start talking, sometimes it's bloody hard to shut me up. I ramble a lot. heh -------------------- o.O
