I think I figured out all (?) sprite data for Sprite 91:

Sprite 91: Moving Platform on Line

ID 00 0U 00 WD VF

ID: Activation ID (in conjunction with V)
U (Unknown): In Unused-1, there are two platforms going opposite directions at the same speed, one has this at 2, the other at 6...
W (Waits): 1=Waits for Mario to start moving 0=Doesn't wait
D (Direction): 0=Starts Up/Right 1=Starts Down/Left
V (Visible/Usable): 0=Always Visible 1=Appears/Disappears when activated/deactivated F=(Same as 1?)
F (Falls): 1=Falls off at end of line (if no dot to stop it)

You thought wrong... I made one that is exactly like an invisible one, and I can't stand on it like I could yours...

OH, man! you're right. I just copied the VISIBLE ? block behavior, thinking of contents, not of solidity, and i tested it only from below (lol) so i didnt notice

I looked at what was common between the ? blocks and the invisible blocks and then mixed them until I got what I wanted

EDIT: I just noticed that it still appears as a ? block for a split second while you're hitting it, though...
(seriously, who cares?)

Their site was hacked (GBATemp) and about 400 accounts' passwords were deciphered... Mine was one of them...

Of course, that assumes I'm even un-lazy enough to hook my Wii up to my PC with my USB Gecko and start reverse engineering Wii games again (I really should though; it was a $60 present and I've barely used it :/).



I'm pretty sure that it patches the RAM to tell the game to load "X" files from SD card in "Y" folder if they are found, if not, from Disc... (best way I can describe it )

no... that wont work.
All graphics of all tilesets are lz77 compressed. That's not the problem, since we know how to recompress them.
The problem is with the behaviors. All behaviors of tilesets 1 and 2 are plain files, not compressed. BUT tileset 0's behaviors are inserted in the binaries (executable code), which are compressed with the weird compression that we can't break yet.


You seem to have been able to decompress it properly, so can't you reverse-engineer your decompression algorithm?


P.S. I'm not trying to be a pain, just trying to help (some coders completely overdo it and go for the hard stuff and not try the easy/obvious stuff )

P.P.S. If I knew ANYTHING about coding, I'd try to help, but I don't...

FYI, this has been resolved. Make an empty block (in Map16) with behavior as "05 00 04 20" - and there you have it, an invisible mini-mushroom block
