I don't think I saw nearly this much rage when the Wii Mini was released, which was a legitimately terrible $99 console with severely limited functionality (no GameCube support, no wifi or Ethernet support, one useless USB port, no SD card slot, no component or 480p support). This, on the other hand, has all the same features and software support as a real 3DS, minus the expensive and gimmicky 3D screen and clamshell design. So what's the problem?

This. All of this. It's a cheap, entry-level version of Nintendo's current best-selling system. It's a way to get the drug that is Monster Hunter 3U into more hands for less expense, and that is a wonderful and beautiful thing.

speaking of, I should really just make a way-late Monster Hunter thread and try to convert everyone here with a WiiU to my cause, so I can make a legion of dragon slayers to help outfit me with better gear.

I live not very far from Williamsburg in Brooklyn. I have only heard horrible things, about uncontrolled beards threatening to blot out the sun and bike lanes that take up more street space than car lanes. "Literally every bad Hipster stereotype, all in one concentrated area," I believe was the phrase that followed.

I was also told about Barcade, which is exactly what it sounds like and something I wish to experience, so I might just have to brave it.

It's no secret around here that I love Monster Party. I love it now because of how cracked-out it is, but when I was a kid? I thought it was legitimately a good game. >>;;

"Press B to store up energy, and then release." ( literally "Press B to gather your fighting spirit, then release it.", but it feels odd in translation.)

"Now, don't forget this sensation..."

"You learned the Whirlwind Slash!"

"When you hold down B, you'll make a Whirling Beam.
But, your magic meter will deplete!"
"When you want to gather your energy,
rotate the analog stick while holding B.
Quick rotations are the best!"

"When you're feeling tired,
you can always come back here."

This was done without too much dictionary checking, so the ability-get text might be fuzzy, but the rest should be sound.

I'm a little rusty, but here goes:

Heh heh heh...
I am the almighty King Boo!
A ghost above all others!*

mind-numbing horror!
Try not to run...
Heh heh heh...

*I would translate this as "The Ghost with the Most!", but I'm also an idiot.

00E2 - After Fight
Heh heh heh...
We are ghosts --
we'll always come back to haunt you...
Until we meet again...
...heh heh heh....
The text is blank in all other languages (Although I can't check the Korean or Chinese versions.)

Fighting Chief Chilly as Yoshi (Not possible without glitches or cheats.)

00E6 - Before Fight
Hmph... no mustache, huh?
HAHAHA! You're just a small fry!
Yet, I don't have much to do...
Despite your lack of manly mustache,
I'll take you on!
Now, come at me with all you've got!

00EA - After Fight
Oh, my word...
I... I don't know what to say.
Taken down by a baby-faced buffoon...
My mustache is my life's pride!
How could this be...?

Additionally, these quotes appear to be translated in English here.

(to Yoshi) "Hmm? I see you have no mustache. Poor, bald, little creature. It's not a fair fight for you, but luckily, I'm not a fair fighter. Let's go!"
(defeated) "I simply cannot believe that I lost to a hairless pip-squeak like you! My mustache was my only joy. Now what am I going to do?"

A little bit smoother than my attempts, too. D:
