I think one-credit clear messages on ridiculously difficult games should be fine, especially if it's an undocumented secret that was unknown until we found it. TCRF isn't just about unused stuff, it's also about hidden secrets that were just never discovered. :o

Hi there, and welcome to the forum! I'm not really sure what to make of this thread, because it's... kind of hard to understand.

From what I'm getting:

the person who dumped the Majora's Mask debug rom overdumped it and there is extra data that does not belong to any known version of Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time. Additionally, the dumper tampered with the ROM and added a large, semi-incoherent rambling message into the ROM.

If I'm not mistaken, that is.

I support this as well, with a small rewording suggestion:

"Games with hidden copyrights" might work a little better, to help us discern from "oh, this says (C) Ocean 1992" and "Oh god this game has an elaborate hidden credit sequence if you 1-credit-clear it." (I'm looking at you, Robocop 2 arcade Japanese version)

I see your point. I just think it needs... I dunno, something seperating it from the gigantic staff roll in Robocop 2 or the one in Final Fight (which should be on the wiki, if it isn't already). It almost feels like a pidgeonholing category for "stuff that is relevant but not really interesting." D:

No, the one on ours is an actual prototype of the FDS version, with honest-to-god differences from the final Japanese version. Judging by the description, if this proto has "no differences from the released version," then it's little more than a magazine review copy, if it's legit at all.

That was my first! Ranma is high on my list of favorites. Other good ones: Berserk, Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Space Runaway Ideon (if only for the ending and the immense debt Evangelion owes to it), and New Getter Robo.

Obviously, there's also a special place in my heart for Utena, if only because the character dynamics are insane.

One translation I came up with was "Absolute Alliance". I'm not sure 100% about the context, though.

"Gattai" is usually used in mecha anime for combinations. Like when the three parts of the Getter Robo combine (gattai) into one of the three Getter configurations.

"Absolute Fusion!" or "Total Combination!" could work.
