And those cookie cutter builds are almost universally "Don't play melee." I know being melee in a Diablo game is almost always a bad idea, but I had a shimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, I would be able to actually play a bruiser and be useful. With the way it stands now, I'd probably be best off just dropping my monk where he is until they actually figure out where the fuck they're going with the design and pick up a different, non-melee class, because Inferno sure as hell isn't tuned for anything but kite-and-run ranged strategies.

Meanwhile, the justification of "Well, you can use another ability!" falls apart when you realize that a lot of the runes a monk picks up towards the end... blow. I can generate more spirit when I punch you! Too bad I don't really run low on spirit with my build. Oh! I can set all my hotkeys to be different spirit-generating moves and get 8% damage each one I use in succession for three whole seconds! Except now I've removed every single healing move to make room for that, and I get locked down and blown up with any engagement that's blue or better. There's a lot of confusing design issues, with both the passives and the runes, that need to get a good hard look-at.

Don't farm gear, just farm gold. You'll get enough gold for a specific item with stats you need faster than farming for gear that's itemized for you. And crafting is a waste of time right now. Don't even bother with either of them. You can buy perfect square gems for less than 10k.

This. What I've been doing is maxing out Gold Find on my gear, and doing the last quest of Act 3 over and over again. There's so many trash mobs, and with maxed GF, they can drop up to 5-600 gold a pack. A good run nets me something like 10k.

Also, yeah, Barbarian is now my flavor of the weeks class...
Man I have commitment problems. *stares regrettably at Demon Hunter and Monk*

Whoops, I left out vital information.
Act 3 Nightmare. I was rolling ~100% GF. If you get a 60 character, there's enough elite camps to get you to 5 Valor of the Nephalem stacks, putting you over 200%. Insane money.

Bumpin' this to ask: Should I give Ideon a look? I hear conflicting reports of "It's amazing and a genre-definer" and "It's shit."

To reiterate: Is it just me, or did the game just totally shit its pants in that last act, story-wise? Complete and total non-surprise, with two !!VERY OBVIOUS EXPENSION HOOKS!! thrown in for good measure. I enjoy the game, but when I care more about my followers totally unresolved storylines than the game's *main story*, that's a problem. Especially when those followers are written infinitely better than the story dreams of being written. D:

Chozite: The game is less gory/"dark" than your average God of War game. Do you like lootfinding games like Castlevania HD for the PS3/360 or Borderlands? Think that, but with click-to-move.

I have never been so torn.

For one: holy shit they did some research, barring "Zangief is not bad guy. Zangief is hero to children all around world!". The zombie talking to Ralph? He's from fucking House of the Dead 1. (Cyril, at the top. Note the axes. D: )

On the other hand... I fucking hate John C. Reilly AND Sarah Silverman to no end, to the point where they can, indeed, ruin a TV show or movie for me. Goddamn it.

I hate the idea, unless the person who is theorizing knows the subject incredibly, incredibly well.

There is a difference between, say, "OH I JUST FOUND THIS NEW UNUSED GRAPHIC I GUESS IT'S FOR THIS TOTALLY UNRELATED STUFF I JUST DREAMED UP" and "Hm. This is an unused item pickup-thing. It's unused, but when I watch the RAM, a counter goes up when I collect it, and my shot type resets to the default. I bet this was a shot powerup at some point, because all of this evidence suggests it." One is an intelligent, well-reasoned theory. The other one is just baseless speculation.

Actually, yes.

But I thought it was only a stereotype that bi people bone anything that moves...

(oh god I am so sorry)

If this ends in a TF2 show, I will be very happy.

For the past few years, I've been staring at Rhythm Tengoku Gold save that has everything perfected except Moai Doo-wop 2, Rockers 2, and Remix 8 perfected. When it came out in the US, Inpretty much bulldozed through it again, and am still staring at those 3 songs with merely Gold instead of Perfect rating. D: On three save files. With one dedicated to "Get Gold with your eyes closed or quit the song". I like Rhythm Heaven, but goddamn, it sure as hell doesn't like me.

As for the Wii version... I enjoy it greatly. I prefer the Japanese version because I played it first (and they removed an Endless minigame from the US version for being way too Japanese), but the US version wouldn't be a waste of your money. I'll edit this thread later with examples.

Have you played the very first game, Rhythm Tengoku for the GBA?

We do.

Thing is, we only cover games that we can actually access, poke at, and otherwise document accurately, rather than engaging in baseless speculation, like a certain forum post says we shouldn't do.

I live (technically) in New York City, so this is how my ranking system goes:

Is someone else driving? Car all the way, unless they drive fast/aggressively. D:
Otherwise: Train and bus. In NYC, most train and bus lines run 24 hours a day, so you're never truly stranded, you just might need to wait 40 minutes to an hour for your next train/bus.
