SNES problems are still there, though I've been getting them a little less... Kirby's Avalanche works perfectly, as does Faceball 2000, but I think a few of my other games might not be cleaning so easily... especially Super Turrican. That one always loves to glitch up in specific areas, too, like world 1-1, 2-2, and 2-3... but it's gotten so severe at times that I've just given up on trying to complete it. :/

Interestingly enough my copy doesn't work very well either and well, I somehow ended up with two copies. I've tried them both quite a bit, one of them doesn't even load sometimes. When I got one of them to work for awhile the game was fine for sometime but eventually the sound completely died, the music, everything, and then the game just ended up freezing. I tried Super Turrican 2 which runs fine but yeah, the original doesn't work very well even if my console is in pretty top notch condition.

I have no idea what to think here. But I'm pretty sure Bioshock creator Ken Levine never wanted this to happen.

Kotaku does a lot of interviews with him and whatnot. I'm pretty sure he once laid it out pretty clearly that a movie just wouldn't work at all.

Also ... assuming this will only appeal to fans of the game, we're all going to know what happens.

From what I hear, it's licensing hell when there's so many characters and series like this together in one (was apparently the reason why we didn't get Namco x Capcom).

Man, I love Links Awakening to death and this reminds me, I still haven't played the DX version ...

By the way, this is somewhat related/unrelated/whatever, but this guy apparently has over 600 videos posted of full complete playthroughs for a bunch of games. I'm wondering if this is how I should watch MGS4.

I own V for the PSX, pretty slick shiney case and everything ... though I still favor III/AC and IV over it, IV being one of my all time favorite shooters. You just can't beat that music!

This game looked like it was finally going to mark Sonic's triumphant return to classic glory, then they revealed that half of the game was going to be some kind of action/fighter/beat em' up or something. And my dreams were ruined.

Anyways, I've gotten hooked on watching some videos at youtube of people playing ridiculous SMW hacks and well, it's just really gotten me in the mood to play some myself. But I haven't been into rom hacking for literally years and well ... I just have no idea where to start.

Yeah, kind of broad, but I'm basically just looking for some good SMW hacks to play. Nothing disgustingly hard, but if save states are needed or whatever that's fine, if the hacks are easy but interesting that's totally cool too, just anything some of you would recommend. Thanks.

Edit: Hmm, Second Reality Project Reloaded doesn't seem to work very well with the rom I have (U) or maybe it's ZSNES? I usually use 1.42. The game seems to freeze at the first Mole level, it'll just stay there on the Mario Start screen.

Haha, probably. I unzipped a bunch of these in one folder and had a handful of readme's that I looked through, guess I missed it. , It does work perfectly in 1.50 and I'm totally loving the hack. The new graphics and music are great.

The others I've tried out are really fun too, especially Keytastrophe. The music in that one is pretty awesome.

I'll definitely look into Demo World and Stranded.

Spent two years working with Maya 7 (or 8) at my high school, it was a "game design" course but you probably could've just called it 3D Art/Animation. Sadly I can't find any of my old work, but by the second year we had made some decent stuff that probably could've been UT maps (we were supposed to actually do that, but our teacher never did anything about it) and we ended up making some pretty good models that probably could've been in HL2 or something. We took embarrassingly awesome pictures of ourselves in class for the textures, haha. This was my least favorite part of design though, from the texturing, boning the skeleton... WAY too much patience needed for characters. I just enjoyed making levels and environments. Though making objects (items and weapons mainly) and texturing them was kind of fun too.

I probably could've gotten a head start into game design but I decided I didn't want my #1 hobby to be turned into a chore (at least how I felt personally). That, or I just didn't have the patience for it, but I'd like to brush up on my skills again and maybe do some stuff for fun here and there someday.

Our school was total bullshit about the program though. Audio/Video Production and Aerospace Engineering were obviously 50x more important, we were just "goofing around and playing games". Our teacher left anyways, so it probably sucks ass nowadays.

Very cool to see some people still keep some records of the history here.

Challenge Games Community was my first AB and forum in general too. I was really into rom hacking with Metroid and MetEdit (?) back then. I think I even beat SMB3 Challenge with save stage abuse haha.

Vagla is the one random dude I still remember from back then, my first forum friend I guess. Wonder what he's up to. I remember he made some offshoot community from CGC, but forget the name.

I missed the main AB's glory days I think, but was a mod or admin before the great collapse with the weird upgrades and ||bass stuff. After that it's just all a blur to me.

Sad to see social media has basically ended most forum communities and most of these places can't even be seen again via archive.org and whatnot. Internet time and history is a very strange thing.
