Honestly? I feel the same way towards the laptop I got in 2012, and I got that from my parents. The last time I poked at it, it was noticeably slower at loading the system from startup, even by today's standards.

Crocodile Isle (2015/2016)

Certainly my most ambitious model to date, and the first time I worked with creating a natural environment. I managed to keep the polygon count lower than 11K by using lots of flat images, at the expense of making the model look weird from above. To keep the model consistent with Brawl's art style, I used many textures from various Subspace Emissary stages. I tried to keep everything accurate to scale, so I did research on stuff like the size of galleons, the average height of various trees, and so on, all while replicating the details from DKC2's various map screens. The only areas I didn't model out are the interior areas. I probably could have done more, but I was burned out on it after building it for two years. I released it on New Year's Day in 2016.


Considering this is my favorite game on the SNES, all I have to say is...

Oh God, this. It was always from one particular uncle on my dad's side, as a joke, but thanks for another thing to be self-conscious about.

(Hilariously, absolutely having to smoke outside has kept my clothes from smelling like doob. Can't complain with that)

Noticed we didn't have a thread for this yet, but what are your thoughts?

Me, the recent big news of not having a national dex... I'm honestly confused. Like, I understand the notion of not having Pokemon that may not belong in a region to not be there, but I can't help but think that they basically lowkey confirmed Sinnoh remakes. Plus, the gen 2/3 schism from 16 years ago. It's happened before, if albeit for more understandable (but still bullshit) reasons.

I was hyped for Sun and Moon, but I've barely gotten through the game since it launched. Kinda worried about whether I should get Sword/Shield as a result, especially when these latest gameplay reveals turn main series staples on its head.

If there's one pattern I can bet on since the gen 2/3 schism, it's with every new engine developed, a remake is bound to be announced. Since Gen 5's engine is an updated version of Gen 4's, we had no remake in Gen 5.

Honestly I'm attempting to figure out if I can reasonably trust Game Freak in regards to the national dex for this very reason.

Protip if you do go back: be patient when holding Ventra cards to the sensors, and only pull them away when they've been read successfully. Never had much issue with these, and I got my (now expired) card the first week they were available, so I'm assuming the issues everyone gripes about all boils down to not giving the reader enough time to do its thing. Peak times can cause issues, but after two failed attempts on a card with credit, they'll wave you on.

Having lived in Chicago and Santa Cruz, I should know how different local cultures can get, even in the same country. Still, took me 25 years to finally step foot in a different country, and while I've grown iffy to travel due to environmental costs, if not a trip to mainland Europe with my dad, then I can still see myself going around American cities via plane or train. Maybe even bus, but after being on a Greyhound for two, maybe three weeks out of my life, I've grown weary of the bus stench.

The Room: The Game essentially goes through the whole movie's plot, basically line for line, but with some Easter eggs and deepest lore involving spoons.

For whatever reason, I hate movies that are part of an installment (Digimon Tri OVAs being the exception so far). Lord of the Rings? Gave up some time early in the 2nd. Harry Potter? Only saw the fifth movie and I can't see myself watching more (incidentally, couldn't get through the first three chapters of the first book). Star Wars? Saw the first trilogy, thought it was overhyped and dumb, so I've no desire for more. Transformers? I prefer Egoraptor's take on those.

But the worst movie? Ratings-wise, Caligula counts, but I'm fascinated by said film for how extreme the director went in the name of art.

I'm probably gonna have to go with Ted 2. I know which movies to avoid, so I don't waste my time, but I remember I kept checking my watch wondering when it'd be over. Heard the original Ted was great, so I'm hopeful that if I'll see it I'll like it, but Ted 2 felt unnecessary and kinda mean at some points.

Swiss Army Man at least ends with Daniel Radcliffe's corpse motorboarding off into the sunset with the power of his farts.

New Leaf but with the Animal Crossing OST where available, except for the hourly rain music.

I don't know why, but I don't like certain parts of New Leaf's OST in the slightest, and really felt like listening to its Gamecube counterpart instead (or, at bare minimum, Wild World's)

I do feel bad admitting this but, again, I've no clue why that could be.

I'd really like to fiddle around with a Pi for a while now. It'd be cool to have a dedicated something so I can watch my digital video collection on my TV.

Though I've been itching for a New 3DS for longer.

And wanting to replace the SSD on my laptop for a 2TB so I actually have room to both have Windows and my programs in one place and have the 1TB as a backup (possibly RAIDed to a partition?)

And pimp out my RAM to 32GB.

Right now, though, I'm genuinely trying to save some money, so I've been pushing the upgrades further and further down the road.
