There's something inheritly amusing about going back to the place where it began (board2, you know) and dropping by for a visit.

So what dumb shit are you working on? Outside of occasionally beating up the wiki I tend to play with corrupting games and Lua somewhat, but I haven't really had a decent project in quite some time.

Best bet would be to look for code that reads/writes from the free-movement address. Not sure how easy that is with GBA games, I'm assuming there's a better emulator for debugging out there than VBA ![]() -------------------- |

I kind of waffle on it. Consider something like Mario Adventure ... It's a finished and dead hack by this point, but if there's unused crap in it should we not add it just because it's by someone who isn't "commercial"? What happens when a fangame goes 'official'?
I think that the rules about this need to be fine-tuned greatly. Perhaps have some base notability requirement or release age... -------------------- |

Banning users is easy (profile > edit user > powerlevel: banned). Removing all their threads is also easy (UPDATE threads SET forum = {trash} WHERE user = {user}). I can do it all in about five minutes or less if I've already got something open.
The problem doesn't really crop up outside of people who knowingly abuse it (and it makes the abuse more obvious when it happens). There are some cases where making more than one post in a short period of time is worth it.
See above, mostly.
Database access ![]() (this would be a good example of where posting twice might be better) Originally posted by Sanky I think this was removed, actually.
Also not true! There were three (no double-posting ever, a cap of X replies in a thread per 24 hours, and a special lower cap of 5 posts per day in threads with 'ACS' in the name). Most of these were removed, though. There's just no point; abuse is rare. -------------------- |

Acmlmboard trivia: Way back in the day (2001-2002) you could trigger actions on the board by URLs; register_globals was used in all cases. It was pretty trivial to flood offshoots of 1.8 (the last "release" for years) by just making image links to things, like register.php or posts.
Needless to say most of this is fixed now ![]() -------------------- |

Your points have problems, too; Ikachan and Cave Story were the only "games" Pixel had put out but at the time I really doubt anybody here would debate adding them to the wiki... And there's stuff like Yume Nikki, too. Any solution that solves this problem is going to do it subjectively and will be wrong sometimes. I am not suggesting that the "notability" and "time" requirements are strict rules, but more of guidelines by which to judge things. e.g. Newer SMBW just came out but is relatively high-quality and notable, while a hack like Super Nazi Penis Cartel Freedom Fighters 3 (yes, it is real) is quite old and notably terrible, obviously staying out. It really comes down to preference. -------------------- |

if it's anything more than just "we put a menu and a timer on it
" I would assume yes-------------------- |

Yeah, I mostly mean if the demo is anything beyond "Hey guys, we added a timer to stop you from playing" then it's probably worth including, or at least making a note of.
Obviously if the content is quite different (see Silent Hill, Chrono Cross) then by all means it's fair game. -------------------- |
