| Dunno if the rumor was debunked or dismissed, but apparently there is a scan from a magazine talking about next month's issue showing silhouettes of Mario and Sonic while talking about winter...
And really, given how Sega has the license I think it's the obvious direction to go in. Not saying it's the RIGHT direction but it's plausible. The important thing to do is to make Curling fun because that's the oddball game of the bunch.  (Skiing is like racing, cross-country and biathlon are rhythm-based and boring, bobsled and luge are all about positioning, figure skating will be a DDR clone and speed-skating will be button-mashing.)
...Actually, skicross is in the Olympics now. Skicross and snowboard cross could be fun.
