Waffles are more efficient because they have syrup pockets. Syrup on pancakes spills onto the plate, which creates more mess on the plate...

Waffles are great when I get to have them but pancakes are good too. I'd say waffle and their wafflely goodness wins in the end.

Waffles, just because of what NSNick said in the past - they have little pockets for the syrup to go in. With pancakes, it dries up in like 2 minutes.

But then you can just dip the pancake in the syrup, for further awesome. Hell, when I have pancakes, I purposefully set aside some syrup on the plate to dip my bites in.

I like waffles a little more, but only if eaten with real maple syrup. Flavored corn syrup on waffles, or pancakes for that matter, just doesn't do it for me. But waffles with butter and real syrup are amazing.

The breakfast place I go to when I'm at college has french toast sticks that are OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I LOVE them!

Other than that, I prefer waffles because of the crunchiness. I like crunchy things.

Pancakes are good, but they tend to explode when cutting and fill me up like crazy, giving me a barfy feeling post-breakfast.

Waffles, on the other hand, are crunchy. They also don't overfill, so even more yummy.

Waffles win.

Oh, and pancakes are far messier than waffles. I can't go through 'cakes without getting some on me.
