This occurs EVERY TIME I try to move a group of files from a search listing into a single folder.

It's pissing me off terribly, because it's really interfering with my organization of files. It's much easier to work off one big pool, for me, than it is to work off several scattered places... hell, I can't remember where a lot of old crap is anymore... I'm finding things I forgot I even had this way!

But that damn error is keeping the actual organization from happening... Any possible workarounds or anything? :/

hmm... can you still move one single file?

your hdd could be damaged. use hdtune to see its state.

I can move the files fine one at a time, yes.

I think it's when the files are in multiple folders... the problem is, though, moving each one individually would still be a horrendously long task...

i understand how it must be annoying to move files one per one.

try this, so you know if your hdd is damaged or not.
do it before you can't move any file!

Uh, it's just a bug in searching. Your hard drive is fine.

You probably need a better app... I've known Windows Search to suck at what you just described.

ah okay! stupid of me. i hadn't read well enough the first post. the problem occurs only in a search listing. so it doesn't occur in a normal explorer window, right?
i think it's a bug in the search utility, as Metal_Man88 said.
