freeze warning in effect from 2 am to 9 am est Thursday
The NWS in miami has issued a freeze warning, which is in effect from 2 am to 9 am est Thursday.
A very cold airmass will continue to spread down the Florida peninsula and into south Florida today and tonight. Clear skies and expected light winds tonight and early Thursday morning could result in temperatures dropping to below freezing across the western suburbs of metro palm beach, metro broward and metro miami-dade Thursday morning, with low temperatures as cold as around 30 degrees possible, hence a freeze warning has been issued for this area for Thursday morning. People should anticipate the possibility of freezing temperatures early Thursday morning across these areas and be prepared to take necessary steps to protect tender vegetation, as temperatures below 40 degrees for a several hours can still cause damage to sensitive vegetation even if temperatures do not drop to freezing.
Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

It was bad enough this morning. I had to get in the back way of my SUV in order to get going to working. The door locks completely froze over.

At least when I got to work (~20 min of a drive) they had defrosted with 100F-like heat coming from the interior of the vehicle...

It looks like the cold snap is ending here shortly. Come Saturday, we'll be back up to daily 75-high, 53-low temperatures. And clouds. I haven't seen a single cloud all week.

It's been really cold here lately... It's a little disconcerting, really.
Apparently, though, the weather's gonna clear up for a while and it's gonna be a, by this weather's standards, balmy 40 degrees tomorrow into Saturday....... until it nosedives to 15 degrees on Saturday night.

It was about 40-45 out this evening.

Didn't stop me from finally taking my iBrick and my pair of headphones out for a 1 1/2 mile walk.

Need to do it more but my left foot is killing me now for whatever stupid reason.

It's been over 43ºC for the past few days (110 to 115F) with a low of 34ºC overnight, the hottest night on record (93F). The hottest it got up to was 46 (115F approx)....

I've been sleeping under a combination of the air conditioner and a fan on the couch just to keep cool. Not to mention the rolling power failures as all the city's transformer substations have been setting on fire due to the heat.

My kingdom for some coolness. :|

Nope, it's Adelaide. South Coast, with freezing wind and water straight up from the Antarctic. We usually get Summers with a lot of days over 100F, which is pretty normal but this is an absurd heatwave. It's kinda consumed the entire south to southeast of the country.

Blah, wouldn't you know it? It rained yesterday and it's raining today, which isn't a bad thing, but that means tomorrow the temperature won't go above 60º and will get down to 37º. According to the forecast, it's going to warm up again the next day... then rain again and bring the temperature five degrees lower than before.


At least the rain is beautiful.
