These weird keys seemed useless to me, until I realized I could teleport to the top and bottom of pages with them. Saved me a lot of wasted mouse scrolling.

How about you? Do you use them on a regular basis? It took me almost 10 years to figure them out, heh. I never tried them before about a year ago.

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: it depends.

It's well suited to some things (e.g. highlighting an entire line with end, then home) among others... sometimes it's just faster to use the mouse.

It varies a lot for me, though I probably use them more often than not.

I use Page Up/Down a lot more than I used to, now that my scroll wheel doesn't work in a lot of programs (thanks, XP).

I use them quite a lot. Home and End mostly. But, unfortunately for me, this laptop doesn't have those keys, so I have to use Function + *arrow key* to use them.

I use Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down frequently.

I use Home and End a lot more, and Page Up/Down more often when using Remote Desktop, as it takes longer to refresh what I'm seeing when you scroll up or down with a mouse.

Yes, yes I do. It's not a whole lot, but I use them nonetheless.

I tend to use it most during web-browsing or Word...otherwise, nope.

I'll use home/end in Word mostly, and sometimes to quickly get to the end of a post after I do something like fix a spelling mistake. Like I just did now because I misspelled "spelling". As for Page Up/Down, I'll use them occasionally. I'm more of a mousewheel person.

I'll use End every now and then, but Page Up and Page Down see a lot of use when scrolling through huge pages.

I use Page Up and Page down sometimes. Usually on our laptop. They're right beside the arrow keys, and we're just using a trackpad. Makes it much easier than screwing around with the pad...

I'd probably use Page Up and Page Down more if I hadn't discovered that just hitting spacebar (and shift+space for PageUp) does exactly the same thing in IE.

Unless a rare chance of a video game using them, no.

I use them quite a bit for text editing and navigation on a lot of things. I even use delete depending on which side of whatever I want to delete I'm on. Insert I only ever used when something needed it, which is surprisingly often. Now I have no insert key so I can't. grrrr. That other block? rare to never. I've used scroll lock before because some BIOSes will pause the POST screen when you hit it. I've used pause in games that use it to...pause and print screen is probably the most often used of those 3.

Yes, but frequently in Opera. I typically don't use them in some other apps.

I basically thrive on these keys.

Firefox, mIRC, ZQuest, Lunar Magic, text editors... I use them for pretty much everything.

My keyboard is missing a few keys.

Not those ones, no.

Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down.

Thanks, LG.

I always use them a lot. In MS Office it saves me a lot of time to hold down Page up down to reach a certain location without manually entering a page number or scrolling a lot using the mouse wheel.
Home and End also are perfectly suitable if there are any useless empty spaces after a sentence.

On web pages all these keys help a lot, too, although it is easier for the hand just to scroll (or if you have those buttons on your mouse and configure them to act as Page up/down), but in the evening I'm often tired when doing stuff - and one quick press on Home or End is preferred over several scrolling cycles (and no, I'm not adjusting the wheel to move more lines at once, with the default three lines per step it is perfectly for me in most applications).

In forums very useful too, if I read through it already. To simply view new reply/ies by just hitting End once. Makes everything easier and more comfortable for me.

Apparently, not too soon, but I'm sure eventually people will forget about it (if they haven't already.)
