Update: Someone has tested the corflags.exe fix and claims it works

Thanks to zuzma for a quick-fix: Once I copied corflags.exe to the lazyshell folder I typed "corflags.exe LAZYSHELL.exe /32BIT+" in the command shell with out the quotes. It pretty much forces it to run in 32bit mode with the 64bit version of the .NET framework.

Corflags can be found here on a 64-bit Vista machine - C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Bin\x64\CorFlags.exe

I'm using it right now. With confusion, of course, since the help file is incomplete.

For now, I'm just going to stick with enemy editing, but later I'll start with the events and later the levels.
Nothing to be unique however, I'm not planning on that anytime soon.
(How to add new dialogue, for example. Or edit/add battle events.)

Already found something interesting.

Look at dialogues 1024 through 1035. Looks like another debug menu, just not the normal one.

Anyone else found anything interesting?

Also, there's a dialogue for staying in the Marrymore inn 200+ times; 2479-2480. Who the hell would have the persistence to do that?

I'd love to know why some dialogues are repeated a ton of times, anyone know?

I would.
This had to be one of my all time favorite games when it was first released.. I played it to death at the time, in every way imaginable. I even had the strategy guide for it.. which I read cover to cover after having already finished the game. I don't recall whether the guide mentioned this, or whether I just loved that Inn so much (and I did love that Inn) that I found it on my own, but whatever the case.. I recall that dialogue, and it is part of what made this game the gem it is to me.

(I can't recall, though I believe this sequence of dialogue - or at least the following event I describe - can be triggered even prior to staying 200+ times, so long as you can't pay for your overtime. Albeit, you're much more likely to trigger this tidbit and event if you stay 200+ times, given how much money he demands of you.)

At which point you're presented with a kind of minigame, where Mario is forced into labor as a Bellhop. Which to me, at least all those years ago when this game came out.. was one of the coolest things ever. Little touches like that hidden away are what really made me love this game.

(Oh, and I had to dig that out of the editor. Couldn't remember it word for word.. If I missed anything from that sequence, someone feel free to throw it out here.)

Oh that. I did that all the time. I played Super Mario RPG religiously too (and still do although not as much). But that happens whenever you overstay and can't pay. I don't see anything special about it for staying over 200 times. Except maybe,

"...Well! It's no surprise that you're unable to pay!!

I'm not sure if that part was in there under normal circumstances, but then again it might be. I haven't played it in a while, or at least haven't overstayed in the inn recently.

Maybe 200 was the limit where it stops counting your stays and that's why it has its own text. For all of the other stays, i'm pretty sure its just

"You have stayed XX times" but for 200 it says

"You have stayed over 200 times"

Meh, I was expecting some new awesome secret or something. I've known about this for a while.
