Can someone recommend a good free DVD disk move burning software program?

I seem to not be able to find a good non-coaster making one anywhere.

There's Ashampoo Burning Studio but it's just a free version, and the site doesn't say what it includes, nor if it's just a trial.

DVD Flick is both easy and powerful, the process takes quite a bit of time though.

I've been using DVD shrink but the newer DVDs won't burn with that software, so now I'm using AnyDVD and it's been great so far. Really nice copies too. I had to get it off of Mininova.

Ironically, that's the same software we pass around at work...

DVDShrink won't work on DVD-9s (DVD-R/W DL) so you have to have AnyDVD as a backup. This is used mostly for COPYING though...not necessarily taking an AVI and copying it over.

As a matter of fact, I do know of some software that can accomplish that. Unfortunately, it's not an all-in-one "solution".

AviSynth - To resize, convert framerates, convert colorspace, (de)interlace, ...
HCenc (with HCgui) - To encode DVD-compatible MPEG-2 video.
Aften - To encode DVD-compatible AC-3 audio. (I'm pretty sure that's where I downloaded my copy.)
IfoEdit - To author an extremely simple DVD. (Like what you'd expect with AVI to DVD.)

You also want a bitrate calculator, there's a good one here.

I can also help you do the encoding and everything. I've done it myself many times with no problems.

Well, DVD Flick is actually an one in all solution for copying AVI onto DVD...
