I recently started using this layout because I didn't find anything else. This layout is one of my first ones, but also one of my worst ones.. It doesn't work with long posts since it'll stretch all da way to the right and to the left if the posts are loo o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o ng.

So I made some new Layout Materials. Now I'm in a pickle since it's been a forever since I've coded stuff in HTML. I think it's pretty simple but I can't figure it out







The '?' in the corner is reserved for later use when I make something up for it.
But seriously, where should I begin if I want to develop a layout out of these?

First I'd split each image into a left, middle and right portion. Then I'd probably start by making a div with 100% width and height, making up the entire post area. Inside I'd have 3 divs for the top image, each using one piece of it as the background. Use float:left and float:right to position the left and right sides properly. Then do similar for the other images. (See also: my title bar.) Make sure they tile well, if at all possible. (You might have to kill the dots at the right edge of the top image.)

I'd consider putting some centered bold text in the lower, gray part of the top image and the actual post in the white area.

That's about how you'd lay it out, but if you wanted to actually use that code, you'd have to change the heights. This is a quick hackup that relies on fixed dimensions.

Yeah, that's how I made my old layouts, but they always had the same problem, they stretched all the way to the end, depending on my post's length.
That's why I made this layout to have ALWAYS the same width :X

Yes, but DIVs tend to break much more often than anything else, and tables makes it stupidly simple to put together.
