Wow.

Either these kids are at the genius level nowadays or M$ has really dipped down in terms of what's considered professional these days.

Apparently he has always shown a flare for learning and computers; being able to read and write by age 2 and then showing a big interest in computers for the past 6 years.

I wouldn't doubt that this kid is pretty well skilled.

I mean if you have somebody interested and the right support (instead of GET THE HELL OFF THE COMPUTER ITS FOR STALKERS) you can do quite a bit.

I mean, shit, I was messing with DOS and QBASIC when I was 7, and that was with nothing but an ancient copy of some BASIC book

Same, except it was GW-BASIC spaghetti code and QBASIC...of which I never really got. I was proficient enough to write batch file menus at age 10 or so and formatted my parent's system around that time but...

It was just a lot of free time and a book to go by.

I studied for and got my CCNA in a month. Does that count?

These certification tests are quite involved, and ask you to do things in situations can you can't possibly imaging. I know windows well, but not well enough to take a certification test.

wow! that boy must be really clever! amazing!
but two things catched my attention:
1. how can he go to school, if he's working for micro$oft? but does him really need to go to school, if he's able to work for m$?
2. the boy on the picture is either a girl or a long-haired boy. though it isn't really important. this picture may be another child anyway.

hey Treeki! you've got concurrency here!

I don't think he works for Microsoft. He's just certified to service Microsoft products. It's kinda like a school diploma.

I can attest for how difficult these tests are, having two certs of my own, and failing one exam, causing me to have to retake it and pass it the second time.

And I'm not even done, yet. I'm about to go take the 72-350 test on Saturday. Passing that will earn me a third cert, and MCSA status.

I ought to go get my A+ just to say I've got something...

I'm confident I'd do well in it as long as you don't ask about IRQ crap...

But IRQs are so very important!

Well. I have a stack of old MCSE books. I could probably practice and get one; at least, I work to repair people's computers as-is.

But I just want to become a programmer anyway...
