That's really interesting... Organisms in the ice caps during summer would make sense, too.

Looks like the article updated after whatever announcement they had at 2:00 EST. No real new information, though, just restating that the seasonal methane activity is probably sign of biological activity. Still, this is a great discovery.

I was thinking about what Fate had said, and remembered some weather hipes about storing large amounts of carbon dioxide in giant canisters. I suddenly had the idea of releasing large amounts over there and seeing the effect. Really. How much CO2 would need to be released on a that planet to have a signifigant change to support life?
Just a thought.
