When I was six, the N64 was fairly new (it was 1997)... but I was still using my NES until two years later, when I finally got an N64.

Hope the birthday went well, even if I'm almost a week late

Shiny new layout!
----------------------------------------------------

You guys are talking about your N64's and whatnot.

I remember getting my first SNES... heck, and even playing an NES. (We sold ours sadly )

I have very vague memories of my parents hooking up Sears Pong to our old Zenith...I remember trying to get the picture tuned in and playing with the various switches to see what kinds of game variations were available.

A few years later, my parents bought a shiny, new, totally awesome...Atari XE. Basically the old 800 computer in a video game console shell. It was a big flop, but at least it meant a steady supply of bargain-bin games for me.

I don't think we actually got an NES until around 1990-1991. That was arguably the system's golden age, so I had a steady stream of awesome new releases to look forward to for the next couple of years...only a few of which I actually got, due to my family's pretty limited income, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I had! Mega Man 2 was the very first NES game I bought, and I played it to death. I still own the cart, as well as our original NES, and still get the urge to pop it in every now and then...

*pop*

...whoa, where did I go just now?
