And now ours is down to $1.59. Gees, I can't even keep up with the prices. It seems like as soon as I post here it goes down again the next day.

link, even in this "bad economy" people are still spending money on games and Gamestop keeps making money and I still keep my job. I still laugh when people bitch about the economy and how they can't drive to another store that is less than 5 miles away because of gas, but then they turn around and buy a $200 bundle.

It's called dumbass prioritizing...that we're helping by these bailout efforts.

These are the same people we're bailing out for mortgage holders that buy something they honestly can't afford and then rely on the government to bail them out. It's why we're in the 'predicament' we're in.

I've seen it from plenty of people since I was a kid. Crap house situation but nice car and satellite was the common back in the mid-90s...and then they'd wonder why foreclosure happened when they didn't have phone and then shit happen on house payment.

So, basically, I pay my stuff like every other good person, but I don't get a slice of the pancake for being good.

Oh well.

In anticipation of Obama choosing a new treasury chief, the DOW goes back up above 8,000 -- increasing almost 500 points. I remember them saying that the VIX had gone down recently, but I don't see why -- the market is still very volatile.

As of yesterday, gas here is $1.89 ~ $1.99 at the gas stations in my town.

Yea, I heard about it on the radio immediately after it happened...

But they need to get other things in order outside of that. The whole GM pushing up daisies thing and extending it out until the 2nd of December doesn't help the situation at all.

At some point, setting it at 0% with become a useless option. I honestly think that the entire thing should be evaluated. If it were this low 1 year ago at this time, however, I'm sure it would've caused more problems (More loans being given out to people who can't repay them...at a higher rate.)

$0.39/liter ($1.47/gal) here now.

Was $0.37 about a week ago, but the OPEC decided to be dicks and threaten with cutting production if prices didn't go back up.

Anti-americanism sure is popular these days...

Oil is down to 35 bucks a barrel for January. It was as low as 33 today.

OPEC cut oil production as well, so there may be a balancing out soon.
