Can you believe it's been over a year since we did this? In honor of my 1337 post, I thought we'd give it another go. Don't worry, this isn't impromptu just to have something for my 1337 post; I've been thinking of doing this again for some time. I promise not to join in myself this time, I wasn't very good at it. Plus it's more entertaining watching you guys go at it. I'll just be the "overlord" of the land but won't directly contact you guys like last time.
Same rules as before. Up to eight people as of now can play. Slots are closed for now. More slots may open up at my discretion.
Rules:
1. You choose who to attack, how you attack, and anything else that your actions are doing. To war with a country, just attack it.
2. Only I may god-mod and only then if I deem it absolutely necessary.
3. Please no super attacks like shooting 50 nukes and instantly wiping out a foe. That doesn't make it fun. You can use weapons like that but be sensible about doing so.
4. Please only declare attacks or other maneuvers in the thread only. I can't keep track of it if it's in IRC. However, feel free to talk about it there as much as you like!
5. If you make alliances, please let me know Out Of Context so I can locate it easier.
More rules to come as necessary.
6. ALWAYS ALLOW THE PLAYER THAT YOU ARE ATTACKING A CHANCE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. THIS MEANS NO ONE-HIT KILL POSTS. IT'S ONLY FAIR THIS WAY.

Things to remember: New neutral land can appear at any time. This land will be up for grabs.
New players may be added over time. As of now, it's closed.

Not much is known of the beginning of the Union of Crabs, except that it was bloody, messy and included war.
These remote islands are situated on the northeastern parts of the map. They were first occupied by immigrants, building a place for any traveller to stop by (for a price). There were many different coastal towns situated on each island, but nothing like a main city or a main hub for people to gather. Of course, this caused some small quarrel and little wars here and there, but nothing major.
Until the main income of the islands, the Great Crab of the Warm Sea, started to run out. The excessive overfishing probably caused it, but the islanders had nothing better to do than start a war over it. Civil war raged for a couple months, until everyone agreed to form the Union of Crabs, a war union, to decide on what to do with the disappearance of the crabs.
The Union of Crabs boasts with good naval power, but has no air support and their land units might be a bit weak compared to others. However, their long-range missiles are superior compared to the commercial versions, having different tweaks such as "Crab Bomb of Pinching Death" or "Dead Fish Stink Missile".
Bjorn "Straw-Leg" Bortgard, the so-called leader of the Union, sat on his custom made crab bench and leaned towards the table. He looked and sounded much like a pirate - patch on the eye, a wooden leg and constant "arrrr".
"The time of the Union has come, arrr! Let us show those landlubbers dat if they steal our crabs, they'll get the sharks too! Arrr!"

Hmm...I did this once. But I dropped out because the context of how I was trying to play didn't bode well with myself for long.
But I do have the Risk board game now, so I have better the ideas of how to play(maybe).

Lumì, a small dictatorship in the northwestern islands chain, could best be described as a small Utopia on earth. Though officially a dictatorship and initially criticized for its nondemocratic methods, Lumì has proven that it is still a people-oriented nation and boasts a strong tourist economy. As of the last fiscal quarter Lumì had almost completed construction of an ambitious new project, "Spire One", a tower so high it reached almost beyond the limits of the atmosphere and pioneering many new construction techniques and materials. The Tower required a constant supply of both fuel and electricity, which is provided by support infrastructure that forms the basis of the countrys economic backbone. Lumì actively tries to create alliances, hoping to stay as far removed from war as possible, but maintains a standing army of 100,000 and a reserve army of 1,000,000. Lumì has an advanced technological sector which sprung up from demand created by Spire Ones computer and technological requirements.

Alliances: None, due to isolationist policies.
The polar continent of Northwall is home to the Church of Granus, a fanatical religious order that holds an iron grip over the nation, controlling its followers' lives in every way imaginable. The Church goes great lengths in exerting its absolute will by having a team of three powerful sorcerers, the Reverends, constantly casting long-range spells to keep the peoples' minds under control without their knowledge.
Unbeknownst to even the high priests, however, Granus is actually a portal to the Netherworld, and its structure extends far beyond the physical plane. The religion is just a front for the true ruler of Northwall, the demon Overlord Katreia la Rougemorte. It is the demons, in fact, who are pushing for war, in order to extend Katreia's absolute rule to the real world.
Technologically speaking, they aren't nearly as advanced as other nations; however, they more than make up for this with their army of powerful spellcasters. Recently, the demons have secretly provided them with cutting-edge technology such as airships and battle suits; however, these are kept well-hidden inside scattered bases on the tundran wastes.
Northwall faces another potentially devastating problem: nearly seventy percent of its almost ten million inhabitants are female. This is because Northwall's society and religion are matriarchal, and the highest church positions are favored towards women (with some exceptions). Decades of male infanticide have drastically reduced the number of suitable husbands available, and subsequently the birth rate dropped to an all-time low of 0.4%. Because of this, Northwall's population is actually declining at a rate of 0.7%/year, which could spell the end for the nation (and the Church) within several generations. For this reason, many Northwallers support the war rally regardless of their religious mandate.

Once known for its fights with other nations over the issue of slavery, the Confederate Republic of Dixie now offers equal rights to all. It is considered to be a middle class nation with much of the wealth coming from its crops, mines, and great abundance in oil. Dixie is also known for its superior military strength than most neighboring nations.
The people of Dixie are very hospitable and generous to any neighborly person. This is most likely because of their great devotion to the Lord. Though, peacefully religious they may be, they do not take kindly to any force against them. A single sign of aggression, and they'll be up in arms and ready for war in no time.

| "Lord Melisandre? An ambassador from Lumì requests an audience with Your Holiness. Shall I allow him in?"
"Lumì? That country of idol-worshippers does not sit very well with me... They built theirTower of Sheshach as an open mockery to our Lord Granus!" Melisandre paused for a second, thinking it over. Shutting the door in the ambassador's face like she wanted to would not only be impolite, it could be construed as an act of aggression towards Lumì. The last thing Northwall needed was to go to war on another's terms- at least not without the Overlord's support...
"Very well. Let him in. The doors of the Church are open to all... Heh heh heh."
The enormous doors to the palace chapel opened, and a small man in a business suit stumbled inside. He approached Melisandre and bowed, introducing himself.
"Granus be with you, Ambassador." She raised his hand over him, chanting some sort of mantra. "What brings a nonbeliever to the House of our Lord?"
The ambassador started digging inside his bag and pulled out a piece of paper rolled up like a charter. "This is a formal request to establish a diplomatic alliance between Lumì and Northwall. Please read it carefully, Your Holiness."
He handed the charter over to Melisandre, who unrolled it and began reading the first few paragraphs before incinerating it right in front of his eyes.
"Tell your leader, Ambassador, that Northwall and the Church shall never deal with infidels and idol-worshippers. You are not welcome in our sacred lands. Any further attempts to establish something other than a trade relationship will be understood as undermining our absolute authority, and we will have no choice but to force the wrath of God upon your people."
The ambassador stared at her, incredulous to Melisandre's insults towards his people. How dare she!
"Good day, Ambassador. Have a safe trip, and may the light of Granus show the way."
She signaled for two muscular armed monks to "escort" the Ambassador outside the cathedral.

President Rebel gets up from his chair and snatches the note from Dwight. He begins to read and looks up with a stern look on his face.
"No need to go off handle sir... It's not my fault... It's just tha--"
"Which coast son."
"I mea-- Oh. Uhhh... Both, Sir. Nathern and Suhthern, Sir..."
"DAMN! How are we supposed to keep the trade goin' with this mess... Damn 'Kawans. You best listen good son. Never trust a 'Kawan eva'. Ya hear?"
"Ye', Sir."
"Seems like the 'ol moon man's gotten a bit too big for his britches. Well, Mr. Dwight, would you like to order a transport for me? We'll be headed to the coast in... Ohhh... Twenty minutes. I wan' see this here blockade myself."
"Ye', Sir. Right on it, Sir."
"There'll soon be a call to arms in Dixie."
At that, the well dressed President and his young military aide set out for the car outside the Country House.

Government: (unstable) Direct Democracy
Background:
For decades, this land has been an anarchy, engulfed in wars and corruption. However, things are begining to calm down ever since a rich gold mine has been found on the small island just to the north of it's bay. Now the wars are over, and this developing nation is gaining more power with it's new technology and arms dept. With a relatively unstable population, this county could lose it's current state of peace easily.
