| You can't expect the US to make a good live action film based on an anime. Hell, you can't even expect the US to make a decent Conan movie because of the same reasons. Fat greedy idiots think they know what the general public will like and it's nothing at all like what the fans want. I think a Hong Kong action movie would be the best thing people could hope for(falling into the so bad its good category). It's why 300 sucked and jackie chan movies rock. City Hunter the live action Jackie Chan movie was nothing like the anime but it was still entertaining.

| I still think that there's a chance that this will be a good original take on the Dragon Ball story. (In the same way that Dragon Ball is a good original take on the Journey to the West story) My past experiences say that movies based on X are more enjoyable if you don't compare it to X and think of the movie as a stand-alone thing.
Of course, my past experiences with movies like this say that they aren't usually that good any way. If I'm going to say it might be good, I might as well say the the universe might have been created in-progress five minutes ago by the invisible pixies that live in my socks. |

| When I read about this movie and looked at the teasers I had a feeling of doom. Nothing about the look and the feel of this movie calls out to me and says 'Good movie'. I'll stay somewhat optimistic about it, but if this turned out to be a huge bomb I would not be surprised.
