| I think it'd be really convenient to be able to send someone a PM from their user page. It seems a little annoying to go to the main page, go to my inbox (which I'm surprised cannot be accessed from the top settings bar) and type in their username. I just feel it's convenient for me to be able to PM someone when I'm looking at their profile page. |

It's hard to see.
Now, let me take time to add to this suggestion. On a person's profile, I'd like it if the text at the top (The person's user name) were a link to PMing them, instead of simply sitting there.

The user name is currently a link to the person's profile, which is where you can PM that person.
I think it would be an inconvenience to change that to a link to "PM that person" link, but I think that it might be nice to have that link somewhere in their sidebar. |

I was referring to on the profile page, at the top where the person's name is displayed. That would be the link (as of now, it has no use.)
I'm not suggesting this for the lazy people, Xkeeper, I'm asking for a small, insignificant change in code, knowing well that there's a lot of trouble for it to happen.

I should seriously just make a "lazy" option for the board that adds CSS rules to absolute position everything at 0,0.
There, guys! It's all RIGHT ON THE SCREEN and you don't have to do any scrolling!

How should I know. And, I never saw a PM feature. When I am looking at someones profile page, I want to be able to click a button on the page saying "send PM to user" or something like that. Plus, it seems to only way to access my message box is through the main page where it says how many messages I have.

---------------------------- Personally, I think it makes more sense to have it sitting with the other options... 
And I don't think it's hard to see... I mean, first you get the stats and information of that person, then what to do. It's more convenient for when you don't want to do anything, which usually it's most of the times you check someone's profile.

This is a very nice suggestion, as the user name is displayed in a different color, which in most cases indicates a link of some kind.

The problem being that there's no indication of where it should go. I mean, it's a username link -- it goes to the profile. But it already is on the profile page. Having it go somewhere else for this one instance would be completely counterintuitive.

Oy. Everyone seems to misunderstand what I am trying to say. Here is what I am suggesting
1. In the options bar at the top of the page, I would like a button to be added to go to your inbox, OR for you to be able to see the bar for your private messages from any page on the forum.
2. Similar to the way you can send a PM to someone on someones YouTube page, I'd like a button to send that user a message when looking at their profile.
That is it. I don't want the link on the profile name to be redirected somewhere else, I don't want to make any buttons easier to see, or anything like that. |

There already is; it's "Main", then "Private messages".
The bar shows up whenever you actually get a private message.
Believe me; we had it the other way for a while years and years ago and it caused a minor outrage. Just learn to use things as they are now.

It's already there!  It's not a button, but rather a small link at the bottom of one's profile, but it's there. Among the other links in the "Options" table.

| I don't see how this is an issue. I just sent a PM to someone and it took me two seconds to do it. You click their name, scroll to the bottom of the page, select to send a private message and BAM there you go. No need to add in something extra that really isn't needed.
