I am making a hack a bit like other hacks. Mine is different because I will be drawing every. Single. Thing in the game with bad spriting skills. I have done okay for the most part. Basically it's supposed to look more cute han eye murder. Anyway, it's a hack of SMB3 and here are some screens.



As you can see it,s a WIP. I've done a little more than this so far. As well as an enemy. Gonna go farther than that. Stay tuned.

I really can't tell what has changed in those screens. A bit shaky text, but that's mainly it?

Maybe work on it a bit more and after that make a thread?

That and the 1-up mush. Hard to give much constructive criticism at this point since it's still really early. Are you planning to just do a graphics overhaul or will you be changing levels as well?

I like all of the edited text on the title screen although in game the word "world" and the "(M)" could use a bit of work. Also I would go back to the drawing board with the 1-up as it seems like a downgrade from the original.

If you changed all of the graphics (for the better) then this really could be a nice hack. It would be nice to see something like SMW Redrawn but for SMB3.

It's supposed to look like as if a total rookie made the game instead. Like, the graphics designers were replaced by monkeys. (That's why I purposefully make some sprites "bad".) But Panderen was right. Though, I only do slight rom hacking when I feel up to it. And that's on uncommon spurts. Better later than now I guess.

Puposely bad graphics-only hacks stopped being cool around the time of Nesticle, though...if you're going to do graphics only at least try to make it a little better than the original? ._.
