It seemed no one else seemed equally fazed by it but... Fate: Uh... There seemed little point to contemplate it and little point to debate which was the best tile to go on which seemed the more pressing 'issue' at this point... ...and there also seemed little point to contemplate what laws governed her now limited movement. If it was up to her, she would've been out of this floor and to the top by now. Fate: ...Can't...float... She sighed. Didn't look like she could 'cheat' this system. With no way back, the four adventurers searched the floor for signs of a possible way out of (or at least up) the tower. Eppy was the first to search a square, but he came up with nothing. X found 5 coins on his square. Nothing too interesting... Lily, though she searched hard for something on her square, couldn't manage to find anything. Continuing their search, the four looked for anything that might be a clue to how to progress... Lily's effort's proved more fruitful this time around: she found 5 coins on her square. ...hey, it's a start, right? Eppy's highjump landed him right in front of a rather large Rat. It proceeded to nibble on one of his toes, doing 2 points of damage. Moving cautiously, Fate examined the floor tile on her square closely. One end of it stuck slightly up out of the floor. Trying to move it back into position did nothing, as it seemed to be firmly wedged in its position. In fact, it almost seemed to be perfectly stable... ...that is, until Fate stepped on it, which shifted it back down into its correct position and caused a small treasure chest to materialize in front of her. Opening the chest, Fate found a small, golden key... X found another Rat roaming the floor on his square. It dove at him, doing 1 point of damage. 1F: The Right Way? Looked at the key she had between her thumb and index finger intently. She bit on it. Fate: Nope. Real thing. She pocketed it. Silently, she wondered why a key was in a treasure box. Usually keys were useful outside of a treasure box to get into one, not out but... ...which is when she heard a high-pitched squeak near where she was. She looked at saw a big, huge, ugly rat dive for one of the people she came up with. She didn't quite catch his name since he was quite the silent type but... Fate: Arcus...Cu... She stopped. She wasn't getting any kind of a charge from... ... Oh damn, not that too. Fate: Oh...GREAT! How am I supposed to attack something with Thunder if I can't-- Which is when a similar electrical power shot up from around her position and towards the Rat that was on X's panel... Fate sweatdropped. Whatever worked. ____________________

Lily: Bah. Five gold coins. Seriously, would've been nice for there to be a little more automation. Oh well. Not like I can't fit it and a kitchen sink in my faithful treasure hunting pouch. Lily began to wander around aimlessly Along the way, Lily noticed a rat had appeared out of nowhere. In fact, two rats had appeared out of nowhere. None were attacking her, however. Lily: Oh. Well, have fun with that. I'm still busy checking out the place. Just as she passed by Eppy, she slightly turned her upper body and held out her right fist. She gave a thumbs up. Lily: Good luck! She finished her "Rally" with a twinkling smile, somehow casting a Braveheart on Eppy. ____________________

With the emergence of a few potential enemies, the group set to work dispatching them... Fate-chan's blunder nevertheless fried one of the Rats nicely, doing 4 points of damage and rendering it lifeless. The Rat disappeared with a puff of smoke, leaving behind many small, star-like twinklings of light, which floated over to Fate. It seems they were Star Points--a total of 50 of them--which circled her before disappearing. The Rat also left behind 5 coins, which Fate pocketed. Lily's boosting spell raised Eppy's attack power by 50%, an effect which should last for about 3 turns. Eppy, newly powered-up, blasted the other Rat for 5 damage points, which defeated it easily. The 50 Star Points left behind floated over to Eppy, circling him as they did Fate before also disappearing. Eppy picked up the 5 coins left behind as well. X didn't have much left to punt, though, as his teammates took care of it for him. 1F: The Right Way? She didn't quite remember plain, old sewer rats releasing odd star like pieces and somehow disappearing and... ...why was a rat carrying 5 gold pieces...somehow? Fate: ~Logic...tearing at...mind...~ She rubbed her temple with one hand, not quite understanding but figuring, once again, it may just be better not to ask. It seemed everything had been averted for now, so it seemed time to find a use for the key that she had. She had no clue where to begin so once again, she picked out a random number for her next destination. Fate nodded. She moved over to square 17, going by non-existent rat graves as she passed. ____________________
