Well, the Wii version was out a couple days ago, anyone played it yet?
Accoring to reviews, the day levels are amazing, but the night levels pretty much screw things up.

As for me, I'm getting it now.

Got the PS2 version (Same as Wii with less waggle) and the game can be summarized into three parts:

Story: This is pretty much loads of boring text and press somewhere to go there to get more boring text and then watch boring movies, it sucks.
Night stages: This is hilariously easy and boring with maybe two different combos max.
Day stages: The beginning ones are rather bland, but the speed is there, the controls work and the 2D parts are GODLY!

Of course this is right at the start so it may pick up later on.

Probably getting this later. I have my eyes set on ACWii w/ WiiSpeak as a gift for my sisters during the holidays.

It seems the Wii (PS2) version is already being called the better version. I'll be interested to see how the public take to the PS3/360 one.

I'm look forward to it, though I didn't know it was already out for the Wii.

However, I've heard that quite a bit has been removed from the Wii version, such as the Hub city, at least one and a half levels, and some kind of airplane levels with Tails. It probably has something to do with the amount of storage space on the Wii or something, but I'm hoping it doesn't lessen the experience.

The opening movie is incredible. :3

The Wii version has mostly different levels.
It wasn't developed directly by Sonic Team.

Okay, so I've played for about an hour, done the first few levels a couple times.

The Daytime stages are amazing.

Nighttime ones are passable. I've already given up on the Wiimote control scheme though.
The graphics are pretty slick, and I didn't notice a drop in framerate.

I'm waiting for the 360 version. I hope it'll be okay, but I am not holding breath.

But I am holding my breath for that Sonic collection for the 360 coming out early next week. I hope it's like the mega collection from Ps2/Xbox (maybe add in a few more games?).

So I played it. The opening is pretty sweet but after playing a little bit of the actual game, I had to turn it off and play the original sonic. It wasn't too long before I started to feel sick and fed up to what they've done to Sonic. The camera is a pain in the ass and all I wanted to do was jump on a spring pad, but stopping and doing that started to make me a bit queasy due to the camera going nuts.. Heh, and I didn't even get to the night mode. They need to leave Sonic as a side-scroller.

I rented it. I like it enough that I'm going to continue playing it (probably won't beat it before I head back to the campus) but the reviews were all right about the day:night ratio. You do play 3x more night missions and each of them takes 7-10 minutes to beat. Battling does get rather boring as Werehog Sonic but at least you get a few new ways to fight as you go, though I will agree that it comes down to finding a few combos that work and just spamming them.

As for the actual ratio, expect to play 1 day level and then 6 night levels before you get to the next day level. Probably a 1 1/2 gap, though there is a daytime boss fight in the middle of it all.

I'll keep playing some more. For some unknown reason I'm always drawn to the 3D Sonics. Now if only they had made the game fully out of daytime-styled levels, because those are a blast to play.

I might get it after I get AC:CF.

I liked most of the 3D sonic games myself. 06 was bad though, and Secret Rings was addictive and aggravating.
If this one is better than 06, I'll buy it

The other thing I forgot to mention is that the cutscenes have some of the prettiest visuals I've seen on the Wii so far, and the graphics in-game are nothing to sneeze at either. Graphically, it's rather pretty for the Wii.

The strange thing that I found was that the menus and menu music seem to be trying to copy Super Mario Galaxy. Lots of full orchestra brass songs and the like, 6 game saves, each designated by either a Mii or preloaded icon.
