His system seems to be acting weird. I would be glad to give more information, except my ability to understand him is almost nil. (It doesn't help that the quality of our phones is shit... at least mine) I think his CMOS said "CPU has been changed" (then something I couldn't make out). It also seems to be loading GRUB from when he had Ubuntu installed. He later erased the partition, though, so...?? ____________________ Homepage (project updates, etc)

Geezus that was odd. Okay, so I'm trying to redo my external drive, right...well come to find out that the damned thing was serving as a means of booting my system THE WHOLE TIME with it's own NT LOADER. The master boot record on the PRIMARY drive that windows had it's files on but was not BOOTING TO had Unbuntu as its startup. Remove a drive that starts windows and you have a pissed off GRUB when it comes time to find a partition that doesn't exist for it. Ran Winternals, deleted the extended MBR X that was there, rewrote the MBR to the drive, restarted. Had to reboot again to make my router work with my damned computer. I have absolutely no clue wtf just happened. ____________________

	Oh, I remember leaving my external drive plugged in in my Tech Support class and trying to figure out why the hell the system was acting so screwy every time it rebooted. I'm pretty sure the Win2K installation on my home computer still refuses to boot unless my external Seagate is attached. No f*cking clue why. I hate computers. ____________________

Well, I did a check on it this morning to see if everything was okay. Looks like I'm in the clear, for now. I got done pulling the old external out of there and reformatting it to FAT32 for use in the PS3. That said, I've got YDL 6 downloading on my comp now which I hope to get later this evening (3.7GB) and then get something like MAME and other emulators running on it off the external. It works with the PS3, but it doesn't do much more right now than house it as a media server. You can use it as backup but it saves it in weird .DAT files that I've no comprehension of in terms of what they are past massive amounts of data packed into files. But hey, my whole hard drive compliment on my computer is now 1250GB. I'm not complaining as long as it remains functioning. ____________________
