For you Stepmania players, mintmania -touhou gouyoukyou- preview pack available now. I did a chart there, so you should check it out.

As should I. Gotta see what the rest of the steps are like.
Should also redownload the original mintmania pack.

3.9. If you want standard DDR arrows that's the way to go.

Latest 4.0 changed the arrows big time and is still very glitchy.

Also, 3.9 just has more themes, allowing it to look the way you want it. 4.0... not so much.

3.9 is absolutely necessary.

3.9.5 or variants of it are necessary for files with rolls or SMO. Otherwise you will crash.

4.0 is dogshit. Don't download it.

Strangely the version of 3.95 I have doesn't allow online. It is great, though, for courses that are ITG2-esque (Insomnia, for instance) since... well, its what ITG PC is based off of.

Ironically I think most of the good beginner simfiles are the official ones.

If only because with the official ones they were meant for pads and therefore much easier, unlike this "it's got 1857 notes in a 3 minute period on beginner" shit

DDR UK
Requires registration, but has all official DDR steps. These have all difficuties usually, so go with those first. All pad, of course.
Recommended: DDR 1st - 8th Mix Arcade

Bemanistyle
Requires registration, but is where everyone uploads sims. Also has sim projects in the forums and links to a bunch of packs, keyboard and pad.
Recommended: Sims from Hiryuu, DahrkDaiz, and I

Zenius-i-Vanisher
No registration needed. Contains official AND fanmade sims. Only remarkable thing here is the downloads for Ultramix series, SuperNOVA, and has videos for certain songs that have them.

Beware the custom steps, though. Some people play competitive keyboard and make things with loads of steps that'll totally destroy new players.
