I saw a new crappy commercial before the football game... Basically, more Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld doing random crap with some more people and they don't mention Vista at all. You see the Microsoft Logo on a backpack, but that's it. Then they flash the Microsoft Logo at the end.

Starts off with random crap. Then Bill and Jerry are in a room at one point and Bill asks, "So, why are we doing this?" and Jerry replies, "To connect! We need to connect with real people." More random crap. and then at the commercial it says, "To Connect" and flashes the Vista Logo.

It absolutely is that bad of an operating system. It barely runs things that XP ran just fine, it's a ROM hacker/programmer/musician and home sound producer (aka how I'll make money)'s worst nightmare. It's just bad, its slow, its incompatible, and worst of all the layout sucks. It's unnecessarily complicated to find even the simplest of things on the operating system. Ctrl+r is no longer run. My Documents is replaced with "Documents" and no longer right there in the start menu (I'm aware you can put it back, but I shouldn't HAVE to). Also the control panel feels akward, the whole thing feels akward, the way it burns CDs is akward, the way it READS CDs is akward (I had to run XP in a virtual PC to properly read some CDs I burned from XP that ran just fine on every other computer ever, what?), and it just........is horrible. It's like Windows ME rearing its head all over again. And we all know that went over about as successful as a lead balloon filled with Virtual Boys.

See, I mean it's like we're using different operating systems here, because that doesn't match my experience with the operating system at all.

I saw the second commercial, and now I think it's getting a bit pointless (though there were some funny sections of the ad)- alright, now when does this go from "Gates and Seinfeld do random stuff" to "Buy Windows Vista"? I mean, it almost seems like the ads aren't for Microsoft, but are for some sort of new sitcom starring the two.

That worked? I thought it was Windows+R?

As for the ads, maybe they are going for a story?

Well what the fuck, Windows+R is run in Vista. But WHY THE HELL did they change it in the first place? It was ctrl+r since 95 iirc.

It's Win + R.

Ctrl + R is application-definable, really...

I knew this would end in disaster, and I'm going to say the same about the next set of ads.

Redacted, holy shit.

We wanted to be sure that when we do come out with our major message, today, 'Life Without Walls,' more people would be paying attention than they would otherwise

Why did this remind me of a certain joke about Windows Firewall
