We're getting the wind and rain from Hannah right now. It's gonna be fun driving on the highway with this.

Hmmmmm...it seems it might go under us now and I'm slowly on the way of being out of the cone.

Hopefully it won't go after LA, but once it's in the gulf, there's only a few places that it can go.

It probably will.

My track is it slams into LA again after re-igniting in the gulf as a mass storm.

Once again, I'll probably get my ass flooded from runoff. :\

I should read these forums more. Didn't notice this thread until now.

At the time being, it looks like Ike might go for Texas, somewhere near Galveston/Houston, after going over Cuba, which looks like a given. But it might still also end up somewhere near the Florida/Alabama border.

Well, these things aren't easy to predict, that shouldn't be anything new, but as it looks now, I'm willing to take a small bet on somewhere near the Texas/Lousiana border. Maybe. (...yeah, this post didn't really go anywhere. )

It's possible but...

So far, they're saying LA-TX landfall.

Looked pretty bad for Galveston, I must say.

And now it's inland as a tropical depression, but is forecast to re-strengthen to a tropical storm before passing over Canada. What the... ?

As far as I know, a tropical system needs to be over waters...and warm ones at that to strengthen.. Surely, those lakes up there can't be enough!?

I'd like to know the reasoning behind this one... this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me!

*edit: Well, they're expecting it to turn extratropical, and then reintensify after the transition has been made. A horizontal temperature gradient is then the most likely cause.

So, Ohio got smacked by the remnants of Ike yesterday, knocking out power to a ton of people. Around here, I hear around 300,000 people are without power, and some will be for almost a week. Trees were knocked over, some killing people.

I can only imagine what it was like where the storm was stronger.

Yeah I'm in Ohio and we just now got our power back on. It went out Sunday. Some areas still won't have power until this Sunday which really sucks. Our street got hit pretty bad. One of our neighbors had their porch blow away! Another had two trees crack and fall against their house, and another had a tree fall on their car. The house and the car weren't damaged though which is good. We had some pretty big tree branches fall in our yard, but thankfully nothing fell through the roof. That really would have sucked since we just got our roof fixed. They must have done a pretty good job too because everyone else on our street had shingles flying off their roof, but ours held up perfect. There's still a ton of debris to clean up though. Ohio is not used to ever having to deal with the remnants of a hurricane other than just a week of rain. I can't imagine what it must be like in Texas.

We're holding a sizeable chunk of refugees still after it came through. We have a few places still without power as well but it didn't hit us in central nearly as bad as Gustav did.

Texas, especially Galveston, is in shambles pretty much...

Both of my houses (one's actually a condo) were fine.

The fences and trees around here are down, and power surges from re-enabled power occasionally knocks our power out, but the water is safe to drink again.

Oh by the way my homes got hit by Ike

Post Note - My university is still closed until Monday. Maybe I can get my assignments done one time (They're programming assignments and they look ridiculously easy so I've been procrastinating)
