Consiering it only rained for a few minutes tops (not as much as it did a few days ago, which was for 5 minutes of medium rain for a while... and keep in mind my medium and your medium are probably much different)...

I doubt there was even more than pools of water for a few seconds, let alone flash floods. You need rain for at least 30 minutes toe ven have a chance, and in my experience they start showing up after an hour to three hours worth of rain.

I doubt that your medium rain is different from mine, unless your medium are sprinkles only. The other day it was raining so hard, I couldn't even look out of my store's front window. Yesterday, was a little bit less than that, so that could be considered medium, rain. But honestly, I've never even heard of medium rain until now.

Medium rain here is "enough to make the concrete wet".

Light is "enough to make it dotted" or "annoyingly humid."

Heavy rain is "actually raining with some consistancy for a good half hour".

So yeah, pretty different.

You're medium is like my light then. And any type of rain makes it "annoyingly humid". People bitch that I have the a/c down too low in my store...I then tell them to stand outside after the rain for a few minutes and to also bite me.

Yeah, but I mean when that's all it does. Not even a cool down or anything else... Rarely actually hits, too (evaporates in air)

Simplicity v1.1
About damned time you guys got something of moisture over there. I saw a shot of Utah to Idaho a week or so back with the satellite view of the cloud cover and a good 90% of it was smoke drifting all the way down south to up north with the amount of forest fires they're having over there.

Not to mention it's been excessively hot over there. Not something I'd like to be around at all. Getting rain over there can't be as monotonous as over here but I will say that Arkansas gets some pretty hefty rain storms over here in comparison to Illinois. The rainfall is vicious in comparison to even some of the worst storms I've seen up there and I'm not really sure why. Not like I'm a meteorologist or anything.

The best kind of rain is the rain that pours so hard that it drowns out almost all sound...

...and then it's gone in five minutes.

Rains over here are the kind that flood areas. That's our heavy rain though.

Medium is like, being soaked to death (you are so wet that your clothing cannot hold any more liquid in them) and light is enough that you have to get an umbrella or something

I like it more when it stays around for a while...

Currently it's raining again, somewhat medium-strength (got somewhat wet outside, still a few wetspots on my shirt from where it hit)... here's hoping it rains harder

I wish it'd snow here for once. The only time I remember getting snow over here was 5 and a half years ago.

Bah... Still not rain. Just heat. I miss the smell of rain...

Meh, we barely got any rain a few hours ago. I was hoping it was going to rain a lot when the wind started to pick up and the clouds got really dark around 4 in the afternoon but no.

I don't mind going out into the rain every now and then, to be honest. It's just staying out there that I start getting annoyed.

We don't have nearly enough thunderstorms around here in boring Illinois. There are only about two or three really good storms a year.

When we do have a good storm, I sometimes go outside and just stand out there until it's over. The only part I don't like is coming back inside all wet.

Daily Cycle II ~ 1569
And so it started storming again...

Very light rain (i.e. standing outside for five minutes made me get hit with about 7 drops), but a lot of lightning...

The forecast went from "Thunderstorms tomorrow" down to "Chance of", with 30% precipitation...

All it really did was make it annoyingly muggy outside

This happens occasionally around here. Most of the time when it rains, it generally pours (with a general amount of consistency... generally.)
