Parents can get annoying, but I wouldn't go as far as universally dumb. They were smart enough to be able to shelter, feed and clothe us through many years.

They're mostly smart, but some of their logic is like... what the fuck? But yea, not entirely stupid.

Hey, I also live in the middle of nowhere and have a really stupid family...

In fact right now they were complaining about how I should go to a psychologist becouse I waste time in the computer instead of doing things like watching TV or go out.
(I'd go out, but there's nothing outside besides stores, random houses and hundreds of bars. And it's that way for everywhere I could go... There used to be an arcade a really long time ago, but it got replaced by yet another bar.)

And about TV... I've gone to sleep sometimes and they'd still be watching it exactly as how they were when I was dinning.

*sigh* I just want to leave as soon as possible...

Well, they left without breaking anything, so I'm a bit relieved...

As for my parents, as soon as I started Secondary, they stopped bugging me to do my work and let me do whatever, although they still want me to stop going on the computer as much... in which case I either get a book to read or stare at the computer while someone else is on it. My dad stopped giving me math lessons after finishing Algebra because I wasn't interested anymore (everything is so easy now).

Interesting story, my mom was always nagging me about my sleep schedule. She then went away for like a week for "reasons" so I went to sleep whenever I wanted. I was feeling about 100% about my sleep.

Since then I ignore when she tells me to go to sleep.

In short: Parents want the best for you, they just don't what is the best for you.

It always feels really weird when I have to tell my mom to turn off the TV so I can do homework. It... kinda feels like something got turned around somewhere.



Still, I do have favorite shows that I like to watch (Monk and Psych). Otherwise I don't watch anything.

...too bad I haven't seen either of them for at least three weeks.

I don't watch TV often. In fact the few shows I enjoy here I'd watch once but don't watch the reruns.

My brother loves turning on the TV when he is playing WoW though. I dunno why. He isn't even facing the TV at all.

My grandfather watches those shows a lot (also NCIS), so I usually end up watching them with him whenever I visit. Of course, somtimes I have to look away when the more gruesome stuff is shown.

It does make sense, sometimes people just need background noise, otherwise it feels... off, or empty. I used to do it sometimes, though not so much anymore, though I might if I didn't always have my fan on.
