Cheat sheets are incredibly handy to have when I'm feeling too lazy to page through lots of documentation (i.e., django or jquery or anything else ofr that matter) just to find something about one little function.

Or the master chuckiii.com for yanking crap for essays.

No one's supposed to remember all of the garble you'll get out of any class. If you get a good amount, hey that's good...the rest I couldn't quite care about and I'm not going to use it any time soon. May as well do the best I can with what's given for the best grade possible.

No reason to use cheat sheets when it's "p functionname"... it's arguably more effort to find the cheat sheet than to just type that in

No shit, Sherlock.

Although, honestly, PHP's documentation is what every other piece of documentation should aim to be.

For school work and job, I go by the rules.

For personal work, heck yeah, I cheat it up with documentation and cheat sheets.

I have tons of notepad files with little shortcuts, charts, etc. and the like for various projects I work on. They're vital for me a lot of times.

...How is it cheating to look at the manual?

Plus, there's usually an index and both Opera and Firefox feature a helpful "find" function...

Yes, I use it sometimes, but only when I need to find information about a function.

Otherwise, I don't use it at all.

I only read instructions when I have nothing better to do. Like my computer's manual. Other times I read it if I need a quick reference. It's pretty interesting to read what they have .
