My brother had school off today for big bad Fay, and... the only rain we got was a 10-minute drizzle around 6:00. Yesterday it was predicted to travel straight through us. I don't know whether I should be happy or disappointed.

Sugar - maybe. I did have a cup of kiwi-strawberry juice.

caffeine - nope. Maybe the lack thereof....

ADHD - now lets break this down....

an inattentive type, with signs that include:

* inability to pay attention to details or a tendency to make careless errors in schoolwork or other activities - Not really
* difficulty with sustained attention in tasks or play activities - Sometimes
* apparent listening problems - You say what now?
* difficulty following instructions - I give the instructions, thank you.
* problems with organization - nope
* avoidance or dislike of tasks that require mental effort - Depends. I'd rather be doing than thinking.
* tendency to lose things like toys, notebooks, or homework - Nope. Well, right now yes, because most of the stuff are still in boxes...
* distractibility - Yep
* forgetfulness in daily activities - Nope

a hyperactive-impulsive type, with signs that include:

* fidgeting or squirming -Yep
* difficulty remaining seated - Yep, but since I stand for about 8+ hours a day, I'm used to it.
* excessive running or climbing - Nope
* difficulty playing quietly - Nope
* always seeming to be "on the go" Sometimes?
* excessive talking - Depends on my mood
* blurting out answers before hearing the full question - Yep
* difficulty waiting for a turn or in line - But who actually likes to stand in line?
* problems with interrupting or intruding - Nope

ADD - another fun break down

Inattention (must meet six of the following to a degree that is "maladaptive"):

* Often fails to give close attention to details or makes mistakes in schoolwork - nope
* difficulty sustaining attention in tasks - Again, sometimes
* seems not to listen - Actually, I do listen. But I do get bored after a while and it depends on what the other person is saying.
* fails to follow instructions or finish work - nope
* unorganized nope
* difficulties with schoolwork or homework Of course I had problems with school work, but that doesn't mean....
* loses things like school assignments, books, tools, etc. - Nope
* easily distracted - yep
* forgetful about daily activities - nope

ADD with Hyperactivity (must meet six of the following to a degree that is "maladaptive"):

* doesn't stay seated - read what I said above, cause now we're just repeating
* runs or climbs excessively (or feelings of restlessness in older children) - Now a restless feeling, sometimes, yes.

* often talks excessively - depends on my mood
* blurts out answers to questions - yep, cause if I already know what you're gonna say, why not?
* difficulty waiting in lines or waiting turns - yes, I try to avoid lines if I can.
* often interrupts or intrudes on others - nope

Technically, ADD is not something you can suddenly come down with. "Symptoms" such as excessive daydreaming...

Okay, who hasn't daydreamed before?

This whole system is broken.

Some of those "symptoms" are ridiculous.

blurting out answers before hearing the full question => I do that a lot at work when helping out people but mainly because I *KNOW* what they're going to ask me when they're halfway through their explanation about the latest pissed-off customer. There's only a few possibilities anyways.

problems with interrupting or intruding => Not clear. Do they mean if *YOU* have a problem with someone interrupting you or intruding in a conversation? If so, then yes. It's not polite. If it's YOU interrupting or intruding, I try not to so yeah.

difficulty sustaining attention in tasks => When you do a task over and over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN at work, who wouldn't want a break?

difficulty waiting in lines or waiting turns => Today, at the ATM, waiting 3 minutes for someone to take out money. She were only making one withdrawal and not doing anything else. I was rolling my eyes behind her. You do the math.

It's beautiful up here now. Don't have that thing make its way up here in the next week or so.

(Well, we wouldn't have a tropical storm or anything like that, but it would still dump some rain on us... and rain is depressing. Yes.)
