Midway through Day 6, still no medals for Canada.

Meanwhile, the media and the blogosphere are just DESTROYING the Canadian Olympic Committee at this point for the lack of success. If it wasn't for two Canadians being killed in Afghanistan today, that would be the top story on the news for sure. Sure, you could look on the bright side and say that our swimmers are beating Canadian records; but in that pool, EVERYONE'S breaking records.

At worst - at the ABSOLUTE WORST - we should have a lock on a medal in Rowing when our men's eights take the water, and it could very well be a gold. But that's on Sunday and I'd be stunned if we were sitting on one medal heading into the final week.

The Reg
A search engine hacker has uncovered fresh evidence that the Chinese women's gymnastic team cheated by fielding underage competitors.

Doubts surfaced even before the competition that as many as half the members of the six-strong team - who won China's first ever team gold medal at the Beijing Olympics last week - are far younger than the minimum age of 16. He Kexin, Jiang Yuyuan and Yang Yilin were all too young to compete, AP reports.

So yeah, scandal in sports. Shocking.

Also, Canada has not won a medals? Boo.

Well, first off I'm glad that someone posted in the thread.

Otherwise I'd never be able to say that Canada currently has 3 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals with possibly more to come in just a few hours.

I think we can hit 20 which beats our expectations and should put us in the top 16 in medal count, which was our goal.

Looks like London is already getting the plans together for 2012. It'll be nice to see what the final results will be.
