| I've had times when power outages happen and the stuff I was doing on my desktop would be gone. With my laptop, I could keep using it even when there's a power outage, which actually happened a few times.
Unfortunately, I can't even use my laptop anymore. The AC adapter for it broke, and I haven't been able to find another one. ____________________ Can finally say that I became The Guy! |

| I's have a great uptime if I didn't have to restart in to Windows to play most games. otherwise, I think I've gone for something like 3 months, once. Luckily updates in linux don't require restarts too often, except for kernel updates. |

| I'm also a crazy person who turns off their computer every night, mainly because it's in my room, and the flashing light from my netgear wireless thing is bright, makes it harder to sleep. Once I built a strange thing out of two pieces of paper to keep the light 'muffled', but my internet started acting weird a while later, and I got kinda paranoid and threw it out. ____________________ ![]() |

My computer's off every night and when I'm at work. It'll stay on all day during weekends.
I might *RARELY* leave it on while at work if I'm downloading something, but usually I save that for weekends. ____________________ Colin's Babble... er, blog. ![]() |

Well, X, you certainly take the cake. Here I thought two weeks was long.
As far as uptime goes on my end, it's usually only a day, and seldomly two or three - but never beyond that. I've always had the unfortunate luck of having a machine that drops significantly in performance if left on for a day or more. Of course, my father doesn't appreciate electricity being consumed by things not in use. I have to pay for my share of the electric bill, so prolonged periods of uptime will just result in more money out of my pocket. ![]() |
