Hit GH status on the PS2...

So it's price is now, pretty much, halved.

Anyone thinking that their copy is rare and worth something are probably in for a kick after seeing this...this probably takes down your copy's worth but...still kind of interesting.

Could it still be considered rare if there's a PSP version out for a long time, and a DS version coming out in a month?

This might have tempted me (as I have several sources getting on my case for not playing the game) if it wasn't for that DS version..

Well...it was more or less the PS2 version for the longest time, since it's been out since 2003.

Five years later a greatest hits rolls down the line.

I mean I bought my copy back in 2004 and it was uber-rare to find a copy of it used and I spent 45 bucks on it when it had been out a year. :\

Guess I'll just get this over the DS version. I haven't used my DS in months and even moreso Disgaea DS wouldn't help. That and I never got a chance to beat the first one. I'm sure playing over 200 hours of Disgaea 2 will have spoiled me though.

So according to the criteria for GH status, Disgaea sold over 400,000 copies in the United States?

To be honest, that's quite a surprise but I don't think that NIS America (and Atlus to an extent) mind so much. Very cool accomplishment, even moreso that Sony's still doing the GH program on the PS2.

Yeah, but they also crammed it into 64MB; there's a huge drop in graphics quality (even for the DS). Consider most games on the DS use 128/256MB.

You're trading off quality for "new" things... at least on the PSP, everything was kept intact except for a mew fusic tracks due to licensing issues (or so I'm told).
