So I'm browsing the board and I notice some uber lag, so I check task manager and guess what pops up using 170k+ RAM? Firefox >: So I have to use Opera now, even though all my stuff is set up for Firefox.

Firefox uses up lots of RAM, but it has features that I don't think Opera has... Something like that. I'd use Opera if it had the features I want/need.

Also. Firefox's RAM usage depends on how many extensions/whatever you have installed.

It's great when you have 1 gig of RAM. Nothing to worry about for the most part.

Damn you, I need more RAM. Firefox only started lagging after being open and posting for like 5 hours so meh.

Maybe it has to do with the cache...?

alt tags are dumb
It shouldn't start lagging at all, considering I've been, you know, using the same copy of Opera for weeks in some cases

1) Clear cache = no more lag
2) Opera is nice but not enough cool stuff (or I just haven't found it yet)

Those of us who like convenience and ease of use.

1)
2) PM me if you find anything of particular interest.

I really like Opera's speed. Changing tabs is nearly instant, as opposed to half a second. The startup time is also nice... But it just doesn't seem to have too much support from other sites.

Firefux (lololol) has its problems, but it also has its extensions. That makes it good enough for me until Opera supports extensions.

Opera has some sort of UserJS thing but none of the userjs thingies are good compared to Firefox extensions. At least none that I found

The only Firefox extension I regularly use is my IRC client...

I've never had Firefox use up tons of memory (well, except for when I open massive image files in it, but that's understandable)... though I only have one or two windows open at most.

I like Firefox because it's extremely customizable, while Opera is sort of (but not really) customizable because of lack of extensions/plugins/addons/whatever you want to call them.

With 1 GB of Ram and prodigious virtual memory, who cares if Firefox eats its share?

Go lots-of-RAM! Woo!

Nightkev, why don'tcha just head on over to some office/computer store like Office Depot and pick up some RAM there?
