I think there's a few people who go between them on occasion. Bisqwit was actually registered here for a while, but he dislikes the idea of having more user customization than two lines in a signature

I was actually considering setting up some sort of temporary forum system (mostly just a threaded tagboard, really) but that would have required a bit too much work for something that would only last 3 days.

(Of course, you're more than welcome to stick around past when it opens )

No, I mean layouts and such... I think he just prefers bland, colorless, plain forum systems. Which might explain why he still uses the default skin of phpBB (ew).

Yaeh. I made the offer offhandedly a few days ago when finding out about it, set up some .htaccess tomfoolery with URLs, and there it is.

This is an archived version of the site while the main site is moved.

I added a small tagline (the "Provided by" bit) after it went live, which Bisqwit noticed about three milliseconds before I told him about it, which would explain alden's appearance rather quickly.

Well you CAN keep it bland if you so choose to. It's an 'option'.

They aren't moving ONTO this server are they? I know we've got quite a bit but I somehow doubt we'd be able to take the throughput of an active site like that one.

Haha, of course not

It's just a copy of this, uploaded and with some tomfoolery to make all the pages work where they normally would.

Bisqwit has far too much server-side shenanigans to actually make it work here, as far as I can tell. We definitely have the resources to pull it off, but a lot of things Bisqwit does would become quite a bit more difficult if it moved.


(That's actually why it's down; Bisqwit is actually physically moving and his server's connection isn't available at the new location yet)

As for what I did...that's here. It was pretty much one of those esoteric 'doomed to fail' runs that was a fighter. There wasn't much you could do with it but it had enough of a following that I went 'sure, why not?'.

Almost had the same idea with Gundam Wing: Enless Duel but I never pushed forward on it and Killer Instinct got done well enough by Dark Fulgore that I never pressed forward with that either although my YT acct. DOES have a few glitch parts in it and demos of KI.

I know fighters are shunned there since they're really only for entertainment but whatever.

I don't mind it, but it can feel a lot less colorful and just generally boring; the only real way to tell a person's posts apart is the avatar.

(That's also why there's an option for "normal" posts here, but I think he even had problems with the name colors... which is really just a function of gender + powerlevel)

I'm not sure either I don't think he made too many changes other than some things to the new reply page, but even that doesn't seem like a very good reason.

I had a custom .css file I used to use for it, but after a few tries getting Bisqwit to allow an option (and being bothered for a bug where it would try to load a garbage page on the server), I just gave up.
