US intel: Iran wants to play ball
Course if they did scud-in-the-bucket shit, the US would become pretty scary, pretty quick. Most of the tone was pretty 'ugh' in reading this, I note, but considering the last few months have given coverage over the missile tests, it's not surprising that this would come up eventually...

I wonder if Iran knows that if they went ahead and actually did something like this, it would effectively destroy not the USA but Iran?
I mean, really. If they pulled something so serious, I have little doubt that almost every single nation on the planet that isn't an Islamic one would pretty much gang up and beat that poor nation in to the ground.
They can either have a win-win situation of peace and agreement, or a lose-lose situation of total destruction. I'm pretty sure they'll make the right choice.
Besides, I'm pretty sure this is awfully alarmist. It's very implausible that something like this could be snuck under the USA's nose. It's one thing to hijack a plane, but it's completely different to sneak a ship and launch a missile.

Course we're dealing in an area of people that believe that if they divebomb terrorize that they have seventy-two virgins waiting for them on the other side.
And yea, most of that article sounded like fear tactics in question but it does have a point. If they WERE or ARE capable of something like that, not only the US but the world would take a hit off this. It's a vital piece of the global economy, for starters. :\

They never mentioned how large the range of the EMP caused by a single nuclear missile would be, at any altitude. Maybe the threat isn't as grave as they make it out to be, or maybe it is... but since they didn't tell us, well...

Pft.
Pffffft.
Haahahaahaahahaahaha.
1800s? What are these people smoking? The first Electronic-based stuff took over in the 1950s.
Mechanical objects wouldn't be stopped. Old cars would continue to run. Mechanized but not electronic implements would continue to work.
They'd need one heck of a bomb to threaten the entire US, and now that we know this, they might knock out a town as badly as Hurricane Katrina thrashed New Orleans, but places like NORAD would be plenty ready. Furthermore, doing this would raise the spectre of UN, Russia, and other places not very excited in crazy people attacking with nukes basically obliterating all of Iran and anyone else who thinks they can do the same off the map.
That's a scare piece, trying to trick people into a war against Iran. It's stupid. It's inconceivable. The best way to make it happen? Keep scaring people, make the US present itself as ultra-hostile, and then maybe Iran will have justification.
But it is fairly obvious Iran hardly has nuclear capability, and if they were to use it in that way, its effect would be limited and possibly even intercepted at this rate (wouldn't it become obvious after the first attack?)

Well, if nothing else, I'm thinking Pearl Harbor.
Even if they did get something off, then Iran would be done.
I mean the Japanese should be going 'What you fucking nuts? They have bomb. They did to us. Not one million bomb. Not one hundred bomb. Two bomb.'

I dunno, I think China and Russia wouldn't be against Iran. |

I think China would have one hell of a problem with a country that destroys the country that buys most of their shit.
