I keep on getting the impression that this'll be the first game for the PS3 that I get a hold of as of tonight.

That's the thing, Cpu, you're given the 'Soul of [Character Name]' to start off with instead of picking a class to work your way up to unlock 'Soul of [Character Name]'. So the problem here is we're starting with 'Soul of [Character Name]', and there's no evidence of additional styles aside from unlocking through playing, or downloadable content. I totally want the bonus character Shura's dual wielding on a character.

Sidenote: It's very weird having a male character with Talim's style... Cause, like before, they don't take into account that certain female characters' stances don't translate well for males..

Nevermind what I said about Shura's fighting style. Just found out that it's Cirvante's. Strange. I never thought I would've ever liked to fight as him..

Well, that's no doubt there but is it of 'owning' proportions?

Giku!

Ah heh heh. No, not really. ;

I don't really inhale every bit of information, I don't figure out the exact frame I can do something, etc. I just get the job done based on what I know about other things and gut instinct. Kinda like a typical anime hero!

You also sacrifice yourself like an anime hero.

Bought it for the PS3.

Story Mode Normal is like...really freaking easy.

So I tried the online feature yesterday. First time was against one of my employees. Had him beat (twice) but the connection was weak (I'm thinking on his end). Then last night I played against Kirbynite. That was freaking fun. I won some, he won some. It's just so good to find a fun fighting game again that I can play with friends. If anyone else wants to play, just send an invite (and a message, just so I know who you are and from where. Its just because I get blind FR's from people who just want a girl on their list.)

I halfway regret buying this game. The AI is just ass-backward: crouch in one spot and spam B and you slaughter the enemy, but try to mix up moves and use variations and you get owned (doesn't apply to Normal Story Mode). Also, on Arcade mode, you can let yourself fall to the ground at the edge of the ring, and Algol will ring himself out pretty often. There seems to be nothing in between too easy and too hard.

However, I do like how they provided enough custom gear to make a character that looks a lot like Altair.

I don't play (any game) online because I don't want to fail classes, but I bet I'd like it much more against a human opponent.

I've heard about the AI from someone else and how he could easily spam attacks against some of the AI with no issues. Then in another battle he had a rough time followed by RINGOUT RINGOUT RINGOUT against his foes.

For the most part I enjoyed SCIII for the character creation, and I know I will like IV for that. Online is good though. Could pit my characters against others.

Honestly, I played it for 2 hours and that was it.

Waste of 60, really. SC2 was about the same way with me.

I only bought it because I thought someone had a PS3 here but it seems you're all mostly XBOX 360 sell-outs. :\

Becasue the 360 is more accessible for many of us?

I know it would be for me for online play.

Well, you could try to return it, Fate-chan.

Yes, the AI is quite something. I can understand the fact that if the AI decides to use Guard Impact like crazy, it'll seem cheap. But it should be flexible enough to understand if I'm spamming the same moves over and over, it should try to do something about it.

I suppose the AI's good if you intend to fight seriously and not simply play to just get through things.

I'll probably keep it...because I'm like that. Mostly for the fact that I'll keep a game and pick it up again when I feel weird on a day.

Same for Guilty Gear. Got several games of it. Not a fan.

I like GG because of the crazy fighting styles and characters (especially Zappa). I barely understand the mechanics, though, and can't pull off anything amazing.

Even most AT's in SSBM were too much for me. Wavedashes were all I could handle.

They all look awesome when experts play it, but to get to that point takes the fun out of the game IMO. It becomes a chore instead of something I'd do for fun.
