So I know not everyone here has a XB360 or a Ps3, but for those who do, or just enjoy the series....Soul Calibur IV comes out on the 29th (hopefully sooner.....) and its been a while since I played a good fighting game. Thankfully the original Soul Calibur was released on XBLA not too long ago, but that's just a tease.

Opinions on adding Star Wars characters in the game? IMO Yoda's face looks a bit, frozen(?) you could say, in each pose that he's in. Hopefully that'll change. And I almost died when I saw the trailer with Vader's apprentice from the Force Unleashed game.

Well, if anyone is getting this for the 360, send an invite. I need some good pvp matches.

Character creation is a lot better.

That alone is why I want this game.

That and I'd have people to play with if I had a 360.

Broken? Uh... it actually has A LOT more customization options. Colors, clothing options, character builds.

It was the reason I played SCIII as long as I did, and VI does it a lot better. I'll be addicted to it.

Every time I hear of custom characters in a fighting game, I always hear backlash on how its soooo broken. But then again, the information that I am getting this from, well, yea, he's strange. He thinks every character is broken, created or otherwise.

Well it is going to be like III in which you have to have a character base for your movesets. There were... um, like only a handful of original movesets only for custom characters, while the rest were exactly like the main character models.

dah! I want this game. But I am torn between a xbox 360 and PS3.... not sure which console will have more of the games I want to play...

but yeah, the game looks good. I wish I had played SCIII more. I can't believe that much time has passed since that was released.

I'll be getting the 360 version (No choice in the matter since I have no PS3 ). I am totally looking forward to this, though I wish they would've NOT released this game so close to Tales of Vesperia. Namco's making it very tough on me to find time to play either game

Definitely look forward to the Create a Character, and it looks like, once again, I'm going to have to add on articles of clothing that may not make much sense. In SCIII, I had a roguish looking character, but I had to put some 'nice' things on him that was a bit odd just to have his voice not come off as a bad or arrogant person. Ah well.

I don't really care much if the system is broken. Then again, I should care just a bit since there's online play... Hm.. I guess I'll have to hope I'll not run into people who like to abuse things. ;;

OMG!!!!!! This game is freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!!

And I've only played two story modes and the arcade. I still want to make my character!

My arm hurts!!! OMG, its been too long since I played an outstanding fighter game. This game is great. Yoda takes a bit to get used to since they slowed him down a bit, but after a few rounds, you kinda get used to it.

Oh, and Vader will be available for download in August for the XB360.

Normally, I prefer having a SNES/PS2 type controller when I play fighters, but even to this day, I've felt more at home in Soul Calibur with a Gamecube controller. I wasn't fond of using a PS2 controller for SC3, and I'm not fond of using a 360 controller for this game.

In any case, I'm enjoying the game. I haven't tried the Tower of Souls yet, but I have played through Story four times, arcade one time, and mucked around with the character creation.

The first thing I noticed about the character creation was like it was staring at an RPG stats screen. I was suddenly stricken with 'Fashion or Stats?'. 'Should I care if these shoes give me Boost points for Boost based skills?' 'What kind of undergarments should be chosen to give me more attack?' Those kind of thoughts.

I eventually wound up with 'Well, I'll just make up fashion with skills'. Which brings up the fact that I think the moveset is altered depending on what is worn. On my first run through Arcade with my ninja-ish character, I was doing somewhat fine, maybe one or two fights that I lost, until I fought The Apprentice. When I unlocked some stuff, I changed the character's trousers to.. uh.. some samurai pants-like stuff, and suddenly I had gotten my ideal moveset, and I completely tore through Story mode, including the boss.

I'm really hoping that fighting styles will be unlocked the more I play. It's nice being able to use official characters' fighting styles, but I really liked the thief and monk fighting styles in SCIII. I would have liked to have created a jedi, but I have a feeling that's not something I'll unlock.

Yoda is quite an interesting character. I still don't know if I like his fighting style or not, but I didn't do too bad in story mode (which made me laugh when Yoda was looking over the body of the jRPGish looking boss he just defeated). Though.. did the credits really have to be longer than the time it took me to finish Story (on Normal difficulty)?

If the unlock system is similar to SCIII for custom characters you have to do a certain amount of battles with each custom character class. Even if they changed it they should be unlockable, given that most of the weapons are by the standard roster.

Plus I remember a screenshot of a character based on Voldo...
