I own a flashlight that can light up houses across the street. I'm not sure how actually powerful it is, though, in terms of being able to set shit on fire. Probably not at all.

It's already been proven that some "mentally challenged" individuals cannot be trusted with laser pointers (read: frickin' idiots with frickin' lasers), and now we're offering them something that can cause physical damage as well?!

I can't see any good coming of this. Just the fact that they're bragging about the damage it can do, set to a heavy metal background...

I don't see the necessity of having such a powerful flashlight. Other than being able to cook food with it, all you can say by having that is "I can burn things with light!".

It would be interesting to have one of those.

Something this powerful is just not necessary. It might even be an inconvenience, like in a case where you have to use a flashlight to see during an incident (such as a power outage); shine it too close to something, and that something could get burned.

...This is not being marketed to people who would use it for using in a power outage. It seems to have two markets: People who need really powerful lights (such as, say, police officers trying to keep track of people in poorly lit areas) and geeks who want to have a flashlight that can set stuff on fire. Neither of which is going to have that issue.

Somehow, those also seem to be the same two groups who may be willing to spend 300 dollars on a flashlight.
