There's very little room for content with the way they have the hacks/etc pages lined out.
There's also quite a bit of whitespace on the far left/right; if they're trying to be compatible with 800x640, well, I seriously doubt more than 3-5% (at most) of the people who visit that site would still have such a low resolution.

A lot of places recommend keeping the width of content down to about 800px wide, since much more becomes harder to follow. See also the main page, which is limited to 800.
...However, they took a bad approach to it by limiting the entire page, not just the main content area, making the main area very, very thin and leaving little room.
Bloodstar: A lot of hacks on there are extremely out of date or plain broken. If they'd go though and update that section -- it feels extremely old and broken -- I'd have no problem wiht it.

I had heard a month or so ago that they were wanting to get that thing back in shape.
Nice to see that they ACTUALLY made good on that promise.

| Nice! I remember downloading Genecyst from Zophar and playing Sonic at mediocre speed at in my 486! Too bad back then my internet access was very limited, so I didn't know nothing about ROM Hacking. A few weeks ago I tried acessing the Zophar website and it was down, so I thought the site was officially dead. Good news (at least for the nostalgy). |

What's wrong with having old hacks?
I don't have a problem with the old hacks. All I'm saying is that the site should be updated with some of the newer hacks that have been made in the years the site has been dead. But I'm not saying to get riod of the older ones. Those are interesting to keep around for things like nostalgia and such. It's interesting to see where it all began, plus those hacks aren't really available anywhere else other than rom archives for games. I know that most, if not all of those old SMW hacks came with my SMW archive.

I think they're in the process of updating their stuff. I just got contacted by the site owner who asked me if he could put Toad's Tool 64 on Zophar. And obviously I said yes!

Personally, I think ZD should keep its focus on emulators and emulation news and leave hacks and utilities to romhacking.net. It would seem like a huge waste of effort to get everything back up to date (and keep it that way) when you've already got a very large, up-to-date archive just a URL away.
