64 GB flash drives...?

Flash drives are getting ridiculously large and cheap now.

Well you can get 16GB flash drives for about the same price that you could get 4GB ones just a year ago. At this rate, that 64 will be down to about this price next year.

64GB would actually be fairly useful as a rather quick and efficient file storage dump if you have to take a lot of software/data with you... Though I could definitely see your point, as I had a 2 GB one from quite some time ago that I still never seemed to fill

64GB could just about fit everything I have here, or at least close enough that I could use it like an external hard drive ... disk space evolves so much faster than my needs

Back in my day, you could only break 1 GB with two hard drives.

Even with my absurd collection of media I strain to break 100 GB... so, yeah. I could technically run my entire system off of 64 GB.

Haha, wimp

Back in my day you were considered lucky if you had even 250MB. (At least, I think.)

(Of course, I was always 4 generations behind computing for a long time)

Back in my day 'one gigabyte should be unfillable'.

Today 'one terabyte is standard for drives on the high end for the consumer'.

It's only been 10-12 years.

At that rate, by 2020, we'd be at PB drives or far higher.

Computer technology seems to advance at an exponential rate (x^255 or something)...

But yeah... my older computer didn't even reach 700 MB I think... Probably much less than that.

And this one is 4 or 5 years old, and it barely has quarter of what a computer has now...
Actually I could store it completelly in that thing.

I can barely have enough free space on my 74.5 GB hard drive. I could probably use this for many things.

Probably help my computer a little .

Back in my day about 15 years ago, 75MB was a fair amount of disk space, at least a step above the common 40MB (1GB already existed but it was huge and expensive ... for a few more years anyway)

It's also the only time I ever ran out of disk space and had to use dozens of floppies and file compression, while now all of it would fit many times on a tiny SD card

Blah, back inbefore my day, you were lucky if you had a hard drive at all. Everything was stored on floppy disks.

There's actually a name for the trend in computer technology over time, you know
