So I'm trying to get my NES to work, put solder on the pads of the board which helped but this being the second pin connecter I have gone through it's still not working right. I finally get Mega Man 3 to boot. YES.

I start up Snake Man, and I get to the point where the guys with poles jump over you and hit you with the poles. Ok cool. Except the pole guy goes to jump and...

Doesn't make it off the ground.
Ok that was weird, killed him.
Then the music started freaking out, playing ANOTHER tune in the game in a high pitched shriek. And then I got to the ladder.

Let's jump to the ladder! Or not, since gravity has been turned off. That's right, going to jump with Mega Man causes him to make the jump animation, except not leave the ground. It took me 45 minutes to set the NES up, 15 to find all the games I want to play, and then it bombs.

Fuck this shit, and no I will not emulate these, I want to play my NES dammit!

Oh my... things like that are irritating. I remember trying to get SMB to work, and having to dust the NES over and over and even having to wiggle the cartridge in while the NES was on...

I started up my NES one time with Top Gun: The Second Mission.

It brought up a Level Select after I hit 1P Game.

I've never since been able to replicate it...this was about seven or eight years ago...or have ever heard of anyone ever mentioning how to do it. It'd be so cool if I knew though.

Sounds like something for cen/cado to look into.

I remember doing the Sonic 3D level select trick by accident once. I tripped over the Genesis and got up to realize the game was still working, but it was at the level select screen.

BMF would actually be a better idea, since Cen is not so good with 6502 (and is not fond of the NES in general)

Well, as a kid, I was freaking out. :\

I figured I somehow hacked my NES cart...somehow.

Kinda like when I loaded up Tetris Attack on an SNES one day and it came up with a piracy awareness message at random not too long after I was big on ROM whoring. That'll freak a kid out.

Haha, I got that the first time I plugged in my SNES after a long time. I thought the damn thing ended up frying.

The Sonic 3d Level Select thing is great... I recall trying to get it to work after finding it by accident by just hitting the Genesis a lot, and accidentally turning it off- the funny thing is that at this point I already knew the BARACUDA code, but I figured bonking the system enough was easier

Tapping my friends Gen to Tv cable would cause it to pop up too. It was kinda annoying trying to start it without turning it on.

The only thing like this that ever happened to me was in Buster Busts Loose where Montana max/bugs bunny would not jump out the window in the western level.

It was odd.
