Takes place 20 years after the end of Diablo 2; so far they've posted a cinematic trailer as well as a good bit of gameplay footage, quite a few screenshots, artwork, and information on a few areas and a couple of classes.

Unfortunately, nothing has been said about whether online play would be free or paid.

Regardless, this is pretty big news.

Diablo III or Starcraft II. Which game's coming out first?

(Honestly, D3 looks really good at first glance... but I didn't see Blizzard announcing a new franchise so it was either this or a disappointing announcement like Lich King going into open beta.)

This is either going to be some more modern oldschool goodness or it's going to suck horribly.

Considering most of Blizzard's recent games I'll lean towards the latter, but I hope I'm incredibly surprised.

Knowing Blizzard, it'll be delayed to hell and back.

They are really going to either do very well with both Starcraft II and Diablo III in production at the same time and still keeping WoW with new content or they are going to flop and flop bad.

Well we PRESUME Duke Nukem Forever's coming out.

Of course, even if it comes out it's screwed critic-wise; given the development time, it's either going to be the best FPS ever or it's the new Daikatana.

I actually do really like the original action games. 3D was all right.

But given the insane development time, an "average" or "above-average" game will be seen as an epic fail.
