I don't use "social networking" sites for a few reasons.

This is one, but a bigger one is that I just don't care. Most of the people I am interested in talking to at all, I already talk to on AIM/IRC/whatever.

Most of the problems with Facebook on there involves you being stupid on Facebook, like adding every application. Don't add applications! Don't put stuff on there you wouldn't want anyone to know! Use common damn sense and you'll be fine!

(Please don't let this thread degrade in to a Facebook argument, please)

I have a facebook, but it's only so I can keep in touch with my real life friends (since they all go to different colleges). I normally don't mix internet and reality that much, because, to be frank, I turn to reality to get away from the internet every once in a while.

Have neither...or rather no social networking sites at all minus the boards I go to and the AIM places I go. It really matters not to me past the few places I go on the net and really shouldn't anyways.

I figure if I really need something to tell people who I am, I'd always just...you know...build a site and start bragging about it to the people that matter.

I get bugged to at work but I don't want to. Reasons:

- I don't want to have to budget time to communicate with friends through there when I have AIM and e-mail.
- If I get on there, extended family will find me. Said extended family will want to use my account to communicate with my family. (Nothing against said extended family at all, but I don't want to have to keep logging on to show my parents baby pictures and the like.)
- Do you really want your BOSSES at work in your Facebook network? No? Good, because I would have that for sure given how many people at work use it.
- If I want to spy or check in on people, I have a dummy account I use for that purpose. End of story.

I remember when all of my friends used to talk about MySpace until suddenly one day it seemed that everyone had switched to Facebook for some reason. I personally have accounts on neither (although once I signed up for Facebook because my friends kept bugging me, coincidentally the e-mail address I used to sign up for the account was hacked into less than a week later ).

So no Social Networking for me, I just talk to my friends on MSN

I don't really like anything like MySpace/Facebook mainly because of they seem useless to me.

I can't understand how people like MySpace/Facebook so much, other than to have a personalized page of sorts, and to communicate with friends.
