This is just a bunch of stupidness here.

I can understand how vitamins can be toxic if you consume too much, but how many people will actually do that.

And the fact that if the bill passes in Canada, the US and Mexico will also be following what Canada did, and that is just plain retarded.

Two words: risk management.

If there's even a remote possibility that you might be harmed by ingesting/doing something (usually in excess), you can bet the government will eventually step in and prevent you from doing it.

Example: here in Spokane, there has been maybe one case of a kid climbing over the fence at a closed city pool and drowning in the last 50 years. It is such a horrific and widespread problem that our local government just passed legislation requiring brand-new, impenetrable 8-foot (?) fences around all public pools. And guess who has to foot the bill? (hint: not the government!)
